Can't argue with that, it would be a fantastic line up, I'd love the work ethic in the side too. But, would you want another '****' (in the off field sense) in the side?
If it got us CL? Yes, **** yes actually. Because if they are ****s you can flog them off and get adequate replacements. I just think we are being safe which is fine and I understand why but again you see Tevez and Villa go for so little and those are the type of guys who could propel us back in the CL. Again, if they want CL right now fair enough but never hurts to try. If we want to take a risk or two go for guys like Gomis, Kiesling, Gameiro and hope they work out but if you have a chance for players who you know can do the job and fit your system, I think you should take the risk.
But there is no guarantee that Tevez would get us CL football. What if he got injured too? We'd be stuck with him on high wages. I agree in principle with what you are saying but I am 100% behind the 'build the team up' approach that FSG have said they want to do and BR is attempting to do. Be different if Suarez did leave mind
If it is J. Cole and Ivanovic type players then I understand not taking the risk but with guys like Tevez if we don't get it this year at least we get a ****ing Europa spot and we can kick on even more. Not to mention having good players leads to other good players wanting to come to your team.
If you was talking about Alonso then it would be different but players like Tevez, Mascherano, Suarez, etc are only interested in themselves. As I said, I understand your point but I'd rather see us get a younger player like Eriksen or Bernard (just examples) who can grow with the team and, should they wish to move on in two or three years time, we see a decent wedge come back into the club. We'd get next to nothing for Tevez or Alonso.
Yes of course, Alonso, Eriksen, etc guys who have CL experience and we can pay those wages too are other options, just using Tevez as devils advocate. With the way City, Chelsea, etc are spending money, might have to take some of these gambles to try and be up there!!!
Fair enough. I guess the difference I see in Tevez and Alonso is their styles. I reckon Alonso will be able to carry on into his late twenties whereas Tevez will be done by 32-34 IMO
#modwars I understand the youth aspect to it but imagine if instead of Buying mignolet, aspas, and LA and we just bought Alonso and Tevez? Imagine the respect, pedigree, quality, etc we could bring in. Yes it might cost more but it instantly ( for me) puts us back in the converstaion. To each his own but I think with our current plan we won't be back in the CL for another year or two.
Again, I see what you are saying but our defence would still be **** I would have taken that plus a dominant CB though Ps...mod wars?
Oh I would be buying a DM and CB on top of those two. Believe that! Sakho, Capoune, Gonalons, Alderweild, De Jong, etc.
I think we are singing from the same hymn sheet but just disagree on Tevez I wouldn't get Alderweild though, he's a right footed Agger and it wouldn't work.
Stop putting pics up of snapbacks! and Gerrez, how dare you ****ing change my ****ing **** you ****! #modwars
