A joke figure. If Bale stays another season, loses form or is injured you can halve that amount. I love how the media hyperinflate player fees.
Bale for £80 Million would be the worst waste of that much cash I could imagine. Quality player but he's nowhere near Ronaldo and Messi level. (The only two players realistically worth more than £60 Million IMO) With Bale your going to get 25 goals a Season and a decent number of assists. But he's not worth TWICE as much as the likes of Lewandowski, Suarez or Falcao and Rooney. Who would you rather have in your team Bale or Lewandowski & Falcao?? . £80 Million is a ******edly unrealistic amount.
I think you have misinterpreted me. I am saying signing Bale is the only bigger statement we can make than signing Suarez, which in itself is very unlikely, which would make Bale nigh on impossible.
Rags saying we've upped our Suarez offer to 35 million, and we're apparently after Tim Krul. I sincerely hope we don't sign that time-wasting asshat (Krul).
Wenger said: âThe fans, the players and everybody is reassured by big names. But what is important is that we donât need numbers, we need quality". It is really worying: the guy has lowered his standards, last year he said he was looking for superquality. PS and on a serious note Wenger says we will bring only one or two players. That probably means one striker, MAYBE a DM and no new goalkeepers.
Rumours that Zabaleta is off to Fiorentina. City would be much weaker without him. They looked spineless when he was out last season.
Agree If we could get Cesar, then I'd go for it. But otherwise, there are other priorities in the squad that need addressing first.
I am happy for Szczesney to remain our number 1 but we can't rely on Fabianski as a back up. I know he did a good job when he came in last season but he always looks capable of costing us a match, not to forget he is almost as bad as Diaby when it comes to injuries. Apparently we have enquired about that young Reading goalkeeper that showed good form at the end of last season, I wouldn't be against signing him as competition for Szczesney. Guys like Julio Cesar, Adler or Begovic will only come to Arsenal with the guarantee of starting every week and I think Wenger still believes Szczesney is our long term solution.
Falcao was sold for around £50mill, wasn't he? And I'm sure, were Bale in his last season of contract then he would be available cheaper, like Lewandowski. £80mill is a massive amount and it's too early for him to be warrant that kind of amount in my opinion too but it's eye-watering when you look at the potential there should he continue his incredible form since moving into a more central role, let alone if he improved! He's not guaranteed to of course and that's why it's too early but there's certainly potential there, he's younger than those you mentioned, doesn't take up the main striking role and scores spectacular goals regularly which makes him far more marketable. As Perez said, these big deals tend to pay for themselves for Real so whilst it's a lot of money, it's not that ridiculous and besides us fans probably aren't best placed to determine the value of a player anyway
