Lots of noise now that Fer is having his medical today.
I know we are all excited by this one, but what if Everton were right and he has a dodgy knee?

It certainly does feel that our signing of RVW is having a ripple effect!

He had a knee issue which kept him out last November but was playing when he had the Everton medical and didn't miss another game that season. Everton were just looking to knock some money off the price and twente wouldn't bend.

I left Surman out as I saw him as left sided however if Olsson can play LM and so can Redmond it might be hard for Surman to get back playing. Obviously Hughton isnt a fan of Fox and I have never seen the attraction with Butterfield although I know others do.

If we sold all three of these players then again that would off set the fees we are about to pay and I would think Surman and Fox are reasonable earners to. I think thats the natural sort of progression that would show we are doing things the right way.

The others yeh, but Butterfield is a good player!, I would keep him, anyone else rate him?

Unless you support Barnsley, Bolton or Crystal Palace, how would you know? <whistle>

I have an aquaintance who lives in Barnsley and often watches them - he must have done something wicked in a previous life!! When we signed him he described him as ' originally crap, had a brilliant 6 months and then reverted to being crap as he ran down his contract '. I think that events have now passed him by and he will be allowed to move on

I think he is a bit hot and cold but he's young yet. I think given a bit more experience he might develop. What's your opinion on Fox?

In any case, surely we have learned to trust our medical and physio staff by now? They are top class. <ok>

I dont think we will be in a position to give Butterfield time to develop if I am honest. He needs to be out on loan again or sold in my opinion. I also think that Fox needs to be moved on for his own sake as much as anything else. He has a great range of passing and would be an asset to a lot of clubs but if we are improving our midfield I dont see how many who didnt play much last year will get in next season.

Saying that I guess its important to have options and theres not many of our targets who I would compare directly with Fox.

Personally I like Fox and what he can bring to the team but - could he have done the job that Tettey,Howson and Johnson were asked to do last year? No I do not think he could. I also find it hard to forget his dismal performance against Luton when he did have a chance to shine. I can't see him forcing his way into the reckoning next season and for his sake I think we should let him go. Wigan would be an ideal match for him.

But was it as clear as he was terrible end of? or were the rumours that he had glandula fever correct and perhaps this affected himlast term? If they are true then a fully fit fox would be someone I'd like in the team/squad and may be Hughton would too.

Bah!

Hope that you sign some decent players in this window so that you become a very strong Premiership side.
I see that Simeon Jackson don't have a club yet which is a shame, hopefully he gets a new club soon.
Gillingham have at last signed Cody McDonald today on a free, we should have brought him from you last time we had a chance.
