Interesting reading the comments from Toby's dad I thought, that a lot of this interest in NCFC has been triggered by our signing the Wolf and the signals that is sending out about our ambition. It also seems like Hughton, McNally et al are making a big impression on these European players. All very encouraging and further evidence of what a great deal signing the Wolf was.
The spine of our team is shaping up to look very different next season, should these deals come off: Ruddy-Bassong-Johnson-Hoolahan-Holt to Ruddy-Alderweireld-Fer-Toivonen-Wolfy.
This report sounds very confident of Olsson's arrival at the club soon. http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/foo...wich-transfer-news-hughton-to-sign-olsson.php
i think there is still a lot of water to pass under the bridge on Fer and Alderweirald. the club plays it's cards very close to it's chest as we know. others will be interested in alderweirald especially, Liverpool were linked with him for example (need to replace carragher). Olssen sounds like a matter of time
Olsson was at the club last night, seen by a very reliable Head Steward mate of mine who was there in a meeting about this seasons games and improvements. OTBC
Michael Bailey ‏@michaeljbailey 1m So, there are suggestions from Enschede that Leroy Fer is in Norwich for a medical, with a 5yr deal on the table. #ncfc #pinkun
That sounds quite close then, the Toby Alderweireld transfer seems a way off yet and I can see that other clubs might beat us to it. With the positive noises his dad has been making I wonder if that is just deisgned to try and get offers from other clubs?
Sorry, one more tweet then it's the opening session of the Ashes foe me But it's a good one - and fairly official!
if we get olsson who was seen at club last night he plays left back/left mid. fer ,tody to help bassong. 2 strikers from somewhere we are set for the season and what a great season i can see. total if we get these is 8 signings in total and mcnally did say 5-8 players
In an ideal world, maybe, but not every single target the manager has will come off, so don't take every word David McNally says too literally. He's doing the best he can, but some of these targets set their sights much higher than NCFC - deluded bastards
we might have olsson he was there last night so thats a start. who do u want the strikers to be. sounds like fer is having medical thats what dutch news says. we can hope
I would be quite happy with Fer, Olsson, Alderweireld and Hooper. I'd like Toivonen for the full set but if not I think we have enough with Hooper, RVW and Becchio although 4 would be more comfortable. I am more interested to see if anyone else will be leaving if we sign these players. Any ideas anyone? Thinking of the Midfield, if we get Fer and Toivonen then are we heavy on numbers? We would also have Fox, Tettey, Johnson, Howson Hoolhan who play centrally....
exactly. with Holty gone we must be on something like 23 players over 21. If we are getting 3 or 4 more in then either a couple will be sold, or alternatively left out of the squad (not ideal as we are still paying them) EDIT - my mistake, referring back to cardinal canary's thread of a couple of days ago, sitrep, we are on 21 after holt's departure. a bit of bandwidth.
I left Surman out as I saw him as left sided however if Olsson can play LM and so can Redmond it might be hard for Surman to get back playing. Obviously Hughton isnt a fan of Fox and I have never seen the attraction with Butterfield although I know others do. If we sold all three of these players then again that would off set the fees we are about to pay and I would think Surman and Fox are reasonable earners to. I think thats the natural sort of progression that would show we are doing things the right way.
