The all clear for Maarten Stekelenburg. No competition is good for him. He struggles when he is is not getting 100% confidence from the manager. Jol knows this because he worked with Stekelenburg at Ajax. Just before Jol took over Marco van Basten put Kenneth Vermeer in the goal over Stekelenburg and in that period he was not even remotely nearing his potential. When Jol took over he had no competition and he was one of the best goalies in the world because Jol had given full commitment to Stekelenburg. He is doing the same at Fulham now.

Fee for Olsson seems to be between £2-2.5 mil which isnt too bad. Final signings hopefully will be... Alderweilder, Fer, Hooper and one other striker.
Swedish TV have also just confirmed the Olsson transfer to Norwich. Other reports here are still anticipating that he will be joined by Toivonen.
Schwarzer news is definitely good news. And Olsson is a great buy, especially for 2-2.5mil! That leaves potentially 4 more players to come in, guessing those will be Alder, Fer, Hooper and either Toivonen or another attacking midfielder. I think we could manage that inside of roughly 20mil. Might even have a little left over for another striker to compete with RvW, Hooper and Becchio!
We keep trying to work out what we could afford by adding the supposed fees for these players together however i doubt were paying all the cash up front we these deals will have payment terms and add ons. This means that we could afford players to a total greater than we felt our budget would stretch
News is. Twente want 5mil euros for Fer. If we offer that then we will have him basically. Rumours were last night that was what we have offered. Tomorrow will be very interesting I think.
5 million Euros! I was expecting much more than that for Fer! Seems like incredibly good business to me!
I just pray we don't get gazzumped by someone for him. It's annoying, cause there isnt actually any other club properly linked to him. Why are we the only ones in the public domain, yet usually do our business quietly...

awesome news about Schwartzer (sp?), tbh as a long time unregistered lurker i still can't believe the quality of players we are being linked to, if we get 2/3 of them then it's kinda crazy, but i also have the feeling that RVW may be having a major influence is some of the interest. especially from the dutch boys
Toby Alderweilder's dad has said Norwich is the only practical option for his son. He's making all the right noises about a move, Toby has also said that he is very impressed with our ambition!
has anyone considered the possibility toivonen might be waiting to see if we can pull off a couple of these 'big' signings before committing to us? not impossible we told him of our ambitious transfer plans and he's said he'll wait and see how that pans out before signing? just a thought my head dreamed up this morning, no evidence for it
