Premier League - Paper Round: Suarez close to another Move Soure:http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/...und-suarez-close-another-move-040452879.html#
Why is it acceptable for Arsenal, Chelsea or other English based teams to bid for or own Suarez, but if he stays here his name will always be affixed with "controversial Uruguayan striker"? Why is there no outrage that he is potentially going to another British team?
Arsenal have had a club record offer of £30 million for Luis Suárez rejected by Liverpool and have to decide whether or not to return with an increased bid for the controversial forward. In an unexpected twist to one of the summer’s most fascinating transfer sagas, Arsenal became the first club to make an approach for Suárez, only for their offer to be dismissed by the Anfield club, who continue to maintain that the 26-year-old is not for sale. Real Madrid had been expected to be the first to make a move for Suárez after he admitted publicly that he Source:http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport...e3810631.ece?CMP=OTH-gnws-standard-2013_07_07
If he is then you can add liar to all the other stains on his character, but it's not like that would be a surprise. Are Arsenal just trying to push through their acquisition of Higuain by starting to look elsewhere (or at least feigning interest)?
Arsenal must have known that £30m would be laughed at. Add at least £10m to that, although IMO he will still be with us on Sept. 1st.
I can't see any team willing to spend top dollar on him because of his flaws, a 'normal' player and there'd be much more interest by this point. If we do end up holding on is it worth it now that he's said he wants to play elsewhere, of course this thought is a large part of his team's end game at LFC and their exit strategy for him and the club shouldn't let this interfere with its own, but it's more negative energy around an already negative individual with the ban and the unpleasant antics.
He won't match the season he just had with us I don't think so value will go down after this season. I am actually leaning towards 'best to sell' myself - £45m minimum though.
Interesting point. Before he was banned and it all kicked off I wondered if he would produce a season like he did last year. No doubt he would provide us some goals and assists, but I don't think it's the end of the world if he goes.
His wayward ways can price him out of market especially when clubs start to see the other side of him.
I'd be more pissed off with us selling Suarez to Arsenal than if we were to sell him to Chelsea or Man City. #rivalforfourth
I said before that if he goes abroad I'd like to see the £50m mark achieved and if he was to join Man City or Chelsea then I think we should be asking for £80m. If it is Arsenal then we should bump it up again to £90m! It is very unlikely that Man City, Chelsea or Arsenal will pay these amounts but if they do then we have a nice consolation, if not then he either stays or goes abroad. #winwin
That's a good point, but we aren't smart enough to think of that, we'd probably swap him for Torres and 5 quid
