Yes fantastic win for the German girl today and just another day at the office for Stalwart Murray. Sorry to see Laura go out but if I'm honest not completely unexpected.
Yes, well Laura did well today she didn't come out of the match only winning 3 or 4 games. But she definitely can move forward with confidence, she really impressed when she was a set and a break down against Erakovic in Round 3.
No, not in my opinion at least. I think in the last few meetings Murray has had the edge on him and will have a massive advantage with home support. Earlier in the year at the Australian Open Final you could argue had Murray(a set up at the time) got the early break in the second set(having a couple of break points on Djokovic's serve) he may have pulled away as Novak was rattled and nervy. But credit to Djokovic he recouped and pounced like a champion. But on current form here at Wimbledon, Murray's impressed me more in the sense that with all the home pressure media etc he hasn't dropped a set and has only had to go to one tiebreaker. And more importantly he seems more focused than ever.
Djokovic is number 1 and hasn't dropped a set either Home advantage isn't necessarily a good thing, it brings added pressure (see Tsonga at RG for example), especially in this country. In terms of ability there's little in it between Djokovic and Murray but bottle and test of nerve is a major difference. Murray bottled the AUS open due to a feather and almost bottled the US Open and but for Djokovic running out of steam he would have but Novak left himself too much to do. Djokovic is favourite, but Murray has a very good chance. His game has to be flawless though, and IMO, he has to take the 1st set (assuming they both make the final). Djokovic's more difficult run will benefit him in the latter stages, Murray has had no real test and won't do till the final. Berdych will be incredibly tough for Djokovic.
I fear what Djkovic will do to Murray's second serve. If he reaches the final, the Brit will have to be right on top of his game and get as many first serves in as possible. Wonderful to see my wee, German sweetheart beating the mighty Serena Williams yesterday! Can she follow it up today? Quite often, players struggle after a big upset so we'll see.
Tennis is ****. It would be better if more people with tourettes turned professional. I would watch it then as it would be rather amusing if they shreaked obscenities as they hit the ball.
Tennis is ****. preferred it in the 80's when they served an volley'd. The game is so dull watching them slug it out from the baseline. UTTER ****
Not at all. Give be baseliners and versatility than S&V merchants anyday. Tennis players have become better for it. Serve and Volley is dogshite
No way. the players were more versatile back then. Becker and sampras being prime examples of perfection on a tennis court that could mix it up.
An entire game based on how you can serve isn't real tennis for me. I'd argue players now are more versatile and need to be more athletic.
