Although I'm inclined to agree that some of the slogans are pretty daft and/or meaningless, this kind of thing is hardly unique to us.
It just doesn't feel like my club anymore. Along with Cortese desecrating our tradition by rejecting the stripes, this has pushed me over the edge. I'm throwing my season ticket at Pochettino first game of the season and ****ing off.
Come join Portsmouth! To be fair, the posters do seem a bit cringeworthy, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Portsmouth fan, I'd think the same thing if they were emblazzoned all over Fratton Park too.
Preferred the slogans from last year...these are a bit meaningless. However, they are better than just plain walls.
It's easy to be cynical but the kids will love it and the sooner we stop them following Chelsea, Man Utd ad Man City the better.
Our vision is clear = Next sponsors will be Specsavers. Our Faith is strong = She is the new tea lady, replacing Fratton Flossy, remember her, lousy tea, nice baps? Our Dream is Real = Madrid? Our Honour is True = but not Blue. Our Time is now = on the Sponsors watches, Let the games begin = as soon as possible, but we will have to buy a few to make up the side, so no rush really.
With slogans like that we HAVE to do well next season. Yes they're cheesy but will look ridiculous if we get tonked at home to west brom sunderland and hull.
Maybe they think some of our fans have a little bit of imagination or intellect; I think they are wrong.
I do find it odd, and seemingly quite a British thing of... "lets not be too confident or positive, what if we don't quite do it and others laugh". I could not give two shiny ****s what any other club thinks. I go to a sixth form filled with United, Liverpool, West Ham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs. They're ignorant as it is. Quite frankly, I do not care what they think of Saints. I'm proud of the club and want them to be positive. FLT has a point. We have some kind of issue with sticking our heads above the parapets.
