Now that would be exciting. Nicola would keep it a secret...no news would be released...then ta da...a new stadium unveiled. Downside it would probably be in Milton Keynes.
They'll be blasting out the new club song on repeat @ match days. 'I don't care, I love it' -DJ Nic C version in an Italian accent. Followed by Rage against the Fans (feat. DJ NicC) with F*** you I won't do what you tell me (Killing in the name)
I think they're alright actually. I certainly think it's better to look at the poster than just plastic, metal and mortar. If only for the fact it's personalised. This depends on whether it's the motto's you find cringey or just the pictures that are stuck up?
It's the motto's more than anything. The pictures are fine, agree that they're more interesting to look at.
Fair enough. We probably agree. I get that it's all a marketing thing and about 'creating a vibe', but yeah. The idea of sticking up posters of the players etc is quite a nice touch.
I sometimes wonder about the British mentality. We are a nation of Neg Heads and knockers. Maybe some of you would be happy with posters saying, "We are bumpkins" or "Small club, small attitude" or "Going nowhere." FFS, it's becoming negative City round here. So what is so wrong about using some wording to try and create a positive theme and what would you do? Some of you must have lead a life of woe and been picked on at school when you were younger because you really don't like positivity and always see the negative when something new is being tried. Good luck and stay happy
What job did you get turned down at the club for, or is this a long standing rift that kicked off when you were turned down as a young player?
I have never applied for a job at Saints. I was never turned down as a young player. I'd be a bit of a silly git having a rift with something that I have had a season ticket with for 30+ years eh? Just accept that my views differ from "the norm" on here. It's the silly season, one should not take things so seriously on the internet.
You are right. It is the silly season and I do get sucked in to defending the club. I think you know just what I like and you put it on the end of your line!
In answer to Fat LT, I'd love to see a poster with the simple legend; "We are Southampton, The Pride of the South" Better than this corporate mission statement tosh.
then the following signs say "We hate all you bastards who come from Portsmouth" "We only drink whisky, we only drink brown" "Southampton boys are in Town" "Nah nah nah, nah ne nah, ne nah ne nah hah" "Ooooooof" Think that would use up all the available signage space round the stadium.
