West Brom are supposedly after Sinclair on a loan deal (BBC gossip column today) but we're a similar sized and run club to them. Looking like we'll miss out on Redmond so we do need a left sided wide player.

£8m is about what Everton were prepared to pay in January, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the price. For that money though, I'd be a little worried about said injury, and whether he'd bring as much to the squad as two other signings for that combined fee. If It's Fer or Toivonen+Redmond, that's a tricky call. If £13m is what we have to spend, and Supers seems convinced Hooper is likely to sign for presumably around £5m, that's the sort of choice to be made.

Nothing like a huge display of confidence in DM and co. and the club's excellent medical staff in particular. Surgeryman is onto a good thing if he can calm people's anxieties without even conducting a medical examination of the suspect knee. <laugh> <ok>

Transfers take time I accept that but I'd ideally like to see any potential new signings settled early rather then thrown in the deep end.

RVW is a big signing but it's just one player and currently the Archant media bandwagon is placing a lot of pressure on him.

I've kept out of the pre transfer window hysteria but I'm just telling you how it is.
 
Chelsea is an odd one they have Cech and have got Thibaut Courtois being groomed as his replacement. Can't see Ruddy playing much there.
 
Sounds like Toivonen deal is fairly imminent - whichever way it goes.

Wasn't particularly aimed directly at you Northants, your post happened to be there for me to use! It amazes me, every window, there are fans on twitter, on the Pink'Un and various other places throwing themselves off cliffs like lemmings! Why? Whatever happens regarding transfers will happen no matter what they say or do! Let's be patient, see who comes in, then discuss things rationally after the deals are done!

Dave, with a decision not due from Toivonen until Wednesday, I suggest you temporarily close the board down until then, otherwise there won't be a single lemming left apart from in zoos. <ok>

Anyway. While i'm here. Holt won't leave, Ruddy DEFINITELY won't leave, We'll get Hooper and if we get Leroy Fer my head will explode.

Seriously though, I would like to hear some good news as much as anyone, but making wild threats isn't going to speed things along! We have to wait for the club's annoncement ant stop believing numpty ITK's!

<laugh> this is true

To be honest, I'm expecting some sort of significant news (bad or good) on Monday as that is the 1 July, which will quite possibly send people into melt down... And by the end of next week I expect we'll have plenty to discuss, with quite possibly two or three new players announced and another couple having left.


I still hope we don't let Butterfield go - he did sound incredible pre-injury and didn't get used properly last season.

Seems the transfer window is getting to some people.

Reflective of real life as well. I always think of Bill Paxton from Aliens when people over-react
