slightly o/t, but partly related to this discussion. Does anybody have an idea of when pre-season training starts? championship teams seem to have been back a week or so, and their season starts 2 weeks earlier than ours. assume it must be some point next week?

I would have though that Monday would be around the time players would start getting back into formal training? Thats totally a guess and may be a tad on the early side but I would imagine it would either start on or before the 8th of July?

As long as City don't lose any of the current 'core squad' of players they are not dependent on new players coming in for the first match of the season. Adding RvW to the line-up that started against WBA would breed confidence enough, IMO. Thus any new players will strengthen an already strong squad!

Sounds like Chelsea's bid was really poor, up to £5m inclusive of add ons!?!?!? are they serious!!

It does sound like they will come back in for him though. I just hope Ruddy wants to be playing week in, week out here. Theres no doubt that Chelsea would probably double his wages so if he does stay here credit to him.

except we are playing everton rick!

He meant that adding RvW (for the Everton game) to the line-up that started against WBA (for our most recent Premier league game) would breed confidence enough. I.e., if the only change to the team playing Everton is RvW, we'll be strong...

thanks Rob, i must read posts more thoroughly - now i see the past tense as well that rick used <doh> to me

Not one single part of the Morison/Becchio saga/exchange makes any sense to me - even less so after a retrograde step like this.

The one thing I will say is in our final game at Man City the interchange between Becchio and Howson for Howson's winner was a joy to watch and smacked of an understanding between them that was probably nurtured at Feeds Utd!

Hucks, there are currently a lot of people suffering from repetitive strain injuries. These injuries to the wrist, lower arm and brain arise from frequent repetition of non-news on football blogs, twitter accounts and forums, particularly during June each year. A&E departments across the country are reported to be barely able to cope with the upsurge in demand due to the numbers requiring treatment. <ok>
