Well we know Brucey is in the market for a couple of wingers, so yeah I'd say we need somebody to play on the right (Aluko and Brady can play left, but we only have Elmo, when he signs, who can play as an out and out right winger) to balance the squad out.
"Hull City Official ‏@hullcityteam 13m Busy morning here - more news coming your way at noon #hcafc" Presumably confirmation of Curtis. And what else?
I was being slightly sarcastic when I asked who it was we had signed. As we haven't signed anyone and you haven't a clue since you proclaimed we have. I didn't expect a list of anyone and everyone. My sources can tell me that much!!
Worth listening to then! It's **** when they have just the 'regulars', don't listen. I'll give this one a listen though.
Neither would I. When you see the two amounts for both players together, it seems like a lot, but when you consider that we're looking to spend just over £4m on a defender and a goalkeeper, it'd take our Summer spending to £13m, which is probably about right in my opinion. If our purchases are: McGregor: £1.8m Davies: £2.25m Hooper: £5m Austin: £4m Cattermole: £2m Elmo: £2m Montero: £3.5m Back up goalie £1m That's £21.5m spent on revamping the squad, which I think would then be competitive. It seems like a lot of money when you add it up, but it's worth it when you consider how much we spent in our first season in the PL and what it went on. (Amounts with a * are approximate values) ***an £750,000 Halmosi £2.3m* Boateng £1m* Gardner £2.5m Oxley £150,00 Cousin £1m* Bullard £5m Kilbane £500,000 Zayatte £2.5m Mouyokolo: £2.5m* That adds up to £18m and it was on total dross. Our best players came from frees (Georgie B aside), such as Geo and Mendy, while I imagine we also paid a loan fee for Marlon King. Our crap choice in players nearly cost us that season; the owners know how much staying in this league is worth to them as a business and to us as fans and I expect them to recruit accordingly; if it means spending a little more to remain a PL team then I don't think they'll be afraid to do it.
Only because he could not get permission tio land @ Beverley Racecourse......FACT.!! Very much so. £9m is nowt by PL standards and with all the FAT's we get that leaves more in the kitty for strikers. True. For any egg chasers on here, Paul Cooke is the guest presenter on tuesdays sportstalk. FACT.!!
Tickles FATs aren't as cheap as you like to think. Players see them as a means to more personal gain. As the club isn't paying a transfer fee they can afford to pay the player more, they might ask for an up front sum, higher wages and the agent is likely to demand a higher fee. Why do clubs pay agents anyway?
