Hull are 4/7 to sign Burnley's Charlie Austin with reports that the deal may be completed this week.

I don't see it personally. Didn't really think we were planning on spending £15million on players tbh. Unless we're planning on offloading a lot.

And you've missed Maynor Figueroa from that first list, he may well turn out to be the signing of the season on a free.

Is that a reliable twitter feed? If so, coupled with the story in the HDM this morning, we might see both Hooper and Austin come in.

I know, he'll be a great player but I missed out the free transfer players from both lists because we didn't pay a fee for them.

I still think he could be a bargain especially if it's getting late in the day to get rid. If we have to up our bid to get either Hooper or Austin meaning that both aren't an option then Odemwingie would be a great addition for relatively not much cash.

It'd seem a bit weird to me if it's an either or between Hooper and Austin. They're totally different players so why would be looking at just one of them to fill the same gap?

The want rid and they've got no other offers, bung in a £1m bid and see what happens.

I just wonder if Austin does come whether Fryatt might go the other way as a make weight?

This is absolutely spot on. Proven PL goalscorer for £1m would be great business

It's a possibility, he'd be ample replacement for Austin at Burnley as he's a proven Championship goalscorer.

We still need to offload McLean, anybody know where he's off to? He'd probably get 20 a season in Scotland....

He's far from a proven Championship goalscorer.

He's had almost 200 games in the Championship and he's scored 49 goals. He's never managed more than 16 goals a season.

I also think he's getting older now and a little bit of a trouble maker/big ego.

If Fryatt isn't a proven Championship striker, not many are.

I would, he's a bit of a cock, but he's got a good Premier League goal scoring record and he's got a few seasons left in him.

In the past four seasons(ignoring the last one which he completely missed through injury), he's scored 38 goals in 109 games, that's 1 in every 2.86 games.

It's a decent record, in fact, Nugent hasn't managed to match it in his past four seasons.

I agree, I think Brucey will try and sign both of them. Whether or not we can is a different matter. There's also Odemwingie available if AA says we're spending too much.
