Indeed, £12m would be a record sale for the Scottish league, they'd be very happy to get that much for a want-away player intent on running down his contract.

On agent fees I agree with LFF that as an employee of the player the agent should be paid by the player.
I personally don't believe agent fees should be allowed as part of the transfer fee and they should be abolished by FIFA.

On Wanayama, does he have any large links with charities in Kenya or his own foundation.
Drogba has taken some big pay days in china and Turkey to help fund his foundation. This could be the thinking behind the larger wage demand of Victor.

So that's what, six games? Against teams we are never going to play against. In a competition we will never play in. Plus I didn't think he covered himself in glory against Juventus (but that's a personal opinion, and the game was several months ago). If he does come, then playing week in week out in the premiership is going to be a big step up from the general level he's played at previously. Yes, the champions league tells us he can raise his game for one off big matches, but can he consistently raise it, as he will need to in the premiership? I'm not saying he's rubbish, in fact I think he would be a good signing overall, as it gives us a realistic alternative to Cork and Schneiderlin. Maybe £12 million is a lot, but then again, our projected revenue has gone up a lot with the new TV deal and ticket price hike. I'm just trying to look at things in the round and not get carried away with myself, as I and others did with some of our previous signings. Some of his quotes to the Kenyan press also do not fill me with confidence, but hopefully if he signs he'll knuckle down and get on with getting the move he really wants.

Hopefully if he signs, he'll play for us, rather than getting on with moving again.....!

When Wanyama signs and inevitably sets the league alight, I hope everyone will recognise that I was spot on all along and from then on will take my word as gospel without requiring silly things like justification and evidence.

Some African (freelance) journo on Twitter claims to be with him in Kenya, saying "Wanyama and his agent are probably looking at bids from Liverpool and Newcastle but not showing interest in the Southampton bid"

    Sounds like bullshit to me.

I would spent up to 15 million on him. He was very good in both legs against Barcelona. They are the probably hardest/toughest team a CM/CDM is going to come up against other than Spain in internationals. It shows that he is good enough to play anyone in the Premier League. He's also 6'2 and very good in the air. He also plays centre back if required which is a bonus. More importantly for me is that he is powerful. He's a strong player and we're missing that type of player badly.

Why? He clearly wants more money than what he's worth.

All this arguing over whether he is good enough from his You Tube videos is pretty futile. I would imagine that our management team have had a pretty good look at him in person if they are prepared to play that sort of money, and it really is their decision, not ours guys, thankfully.
