I don't think we've had this one before, we've had 'best' but not 'favourite' which is an entirely different thing. I'll kick off:

Davis

Golac Lundekvam Waldron Benali

Paine Le Tissier Holmes Marsden

Channon Davies

Actually, very hard to choose. I could easily have a reserve team, and a C team etc etc.
 
Difficult for me being only a youngun, but here goes, with players crammed awkwardly out of position:

See! I posted quickly and immediately looked in detail at other selections and then see Nick Holmes... always a favourite and unsung heroe who I wish was on the coaching staff and then ended upstairs at the club. Another Mr Southampton

Its an impossible task really. Believe it or not I'd forgotten the Wallaces! Still remember the interview with Danny and Lawrie on MotD after his debut at Old Trafford.

I didn't forget the wallaces, but left them out. I never felt Rod should have gone when he did, and although Danny was right in the heart of my core younger years watching Saints, he used to frustrate me that if there wasn't 7,000 people stood on the terraces at The Archers End, he'd be half to Hill College by the time he realized he should have crossed the ball.

Ha. Just to hijack my own thread, I worked at Hill College for a year. Looked after the 2nd team.

as this was a favourite team, rather than best team, I almost included George Lawrence. I was touch and go between David Armstrong and Glenn Cockerill . Danny Wallace and Steve Moran were my favourite players as a kid so were 'must haves'
 
If there is anyone out there with a bit of time on their hands, it would be interesting at some point to compile a NOT 606 all time favourite team. Already, no one has been in every selection.
