Nearly every thread about potential signings has someones idea of who is going to make up the starting XI and I honeslty don't think I have seen 1 line-up that has got Koren in it.....WHY?

He's our captain, he's probably the most experienced player we have at this level, yet there seems to be no room for him in the team according to most people on here.

Good impact player, in and out of games too much. Compare that to Aluko, who was always the centre of our play.

Because he drifts out of matches far too often. Meyler and Quinn are much better options.

But wasn't he the centrepiece of the WBA midfield when they were last in the PL?

He will get more time on the ball in this league that he did last season.

I like Koren and I think he will be a key player in our first season back in the PL.

There is no point in even thinking about a first 11 until August.

After he made the most appearances for an outfield player for WBA in that PL season? Bonkers!!

Cos he was **** for 80% of last season. As Macca says, Meyler and Quinn are much better options and we can't afford to have midfielders who respect the opposition so much, even moreso than last year.

Koren is still one of our best players, and will play a massive role next season. Fewer games and more time on the ball will suit him down to the ground, I'd expect him to be more than just an 'impact player'.

A team that finished bottom of the table.

Not saying Koren is a bad player and I'd deffo still have him in the squad next season - experience can count for a lot. But I think he is past his peak now and better options are available.

Koren is definitely capable of playing in the Premier League, he's really not an issue.

it's been awhile since a 'koren' thread.

'he drifts out of games' must be the most boring comment I heard last season ! Untrue as well ! He was poor in some games but he never drifted out of them.

I think he may be on the bench more than in the starting line up but I expect him to play a part.

Simple, Because many have the idea of who and what is the best team. It is called ""ones own opinion""
Thankfully the only one that matters is that of Steve Bruce and i doubt that he will be consulting anyone on here for advice. On a more serious note, the season is going to be long and hard and everyone in the City squad needs to up and ready for selection. i can see a policy of horses for courses without fail. For example FAYE will be needed when we play the likes of Stoke, West Ham, Norwich.

As for Koren he will feature and do his share over the season. But i must admit that i dont have him in my best available team and it will hard for Koren to start some games but what an impact he can have off the bench.

Was a tought season at times with a lot of changes. With a good Pre-season and revitalised ambitions I think he could be a first team regular. Quality is important in the Premier League. Not going to stick my neck out on the line but I hope he can play a big part next season if he hasn't peaked.

Putting Koren to one side, what a shadow team Steve Bruce will have at his disposal as well for cup games especially.

They are, in essence, the same thing.

He was **** most of the season. How he was our top scorer is just mental.

Am personally looking forward to seeing Proschwitz being the surprise package next season and winning player of the season by scoring the goals to keep us up!...honest

He calls me ahead of every game, if it wasn't for me, we'd have had Oli and McKenna in midfield for every game. Factoid.

Who would you rather have in your team ? Simpson or Koren ?

Simpson - oh he works so hard and holds it up and links the play well ! But how many chances did he miss ?

Koren - pulls out of tackles and gives the ball away but he scores goals and good ones too !

Koren might get his 8 to 10 goals again next season !
