Cant say I like the look of that top at all. Looks more like a saints training top. I did not like the pin stripe top but at least that had some form of white stripe. I know its a new era and everything but I still want stripes back.
Honestly, I won't be completely happy until we have a remake of the 1980-85 kit. It would tick all the boxes - traditional, not like any other PL club, stripes but not tacky, not ****. please log in to view this image
Think I might get me the Eastleigh shirt this season (made by nike). Been loosely following them since just before we went into admin anyway. Saints are still by far and a way my 1st team don't get me wrong but I can at least afford to go to a few Eastleigh matches a season. I like the 80's Air Florida kit that one like that I would buy.
Yeah. In my life, I've owned exactly one piece of team-branded gear...a Toronto Blue Jays ballcap. But a rework of that one similar to the mockup posted earlier? I'd buy the hell out of that.
I love that kit, it's my era really, but it makes me laugh that people complain about no stripes but would love this one. It's not stripes, not traditional stripes. People who think its stripes are showing as much disrespect of tradition than those liking the current kit. I wonder if in 30 years time people will long to go back to the 2012/13 "striped shirts"
Here's an example of my post above. First you say you won't be happy until we have stripes; that is not stripes, not our traditional stripes, which tells me "tradition" to you is just something that you had before and the real issue is you can't handle change.
I want some sort of stripe back on the kit. I know it's not the first time we have had a predominantly red shirt even if you don't take into account last seasons shirt. My main issue with the top is it does not appeal to my taste. I am sure some people will think it looks good but I will just stick with my old shirts for now.
Yes, it's always a taste thing, however stripes are stripes aren't they... I never liked the look of the Marian Pahars era wider stripes or the flybe era ones; I didn't like the look of it. My point is that I find it funny that people post saying they want stripes (and usually due to tradition) yet the 80s kit and the flybe kits aren't criticized and they were as untraditional. For the record, I really would love the 80s kit back, but wouldn't it be cool to have the late 70's kit with the thick and thin stripes? We'd look unique then.
Funny you should say the Marian Pahars era. I was watching a load of clips about him last night. My favourite shirt was the one which had "the Saints" written up and down the red stripes. Although that top look incredibly dated now.
