Can't disagree, although I feel our game is slowly bypassing Rickie, our game is all about pace and Jay Rod fits the bill perfectly, Rickie obviously still has a major roll but I think we will see less and less of him as time goes on. We are so dynamic and exciting going forwards I can see a deeper roll for rickie aka Teddy Sheringham, both clever players with the pace all up in front of him. I think Jay Rod will be first choice striker next season.

Very exciting though picking a forward line from, Jay Rod, Lambo, Punch, Lallana, Gaston, Mayuka with a very likely 1 more at least........

His goals tapered off a bit I agree. I think that one crucial addition would make the world of difference- someone who can run to the byline. If we hit teams with pace, a cross from the byline will be lethal. Rickie won't be there but on the top of the box as an option. He will draw defenders out, making it easier to put a cross in for J Rod, and if not can hammer them home. This is what I think we've been missing.

Re The RB- I would expect us to have a dedicated RB to back up clyne. Apart from his injuries I was very happy with Frazer as back up, didn't do anything silly when brought on.

I would hope we have a dedicated RB its OK having players that CAN play in that position but if they have no experience or you are dragging them away from their favoured position (Cork at RB for example) then you are weakening the rest of the team.

My gut feeling is that had his contract not come to an end, we'd have kept Frazer for another season and therefore they would be little or no need to find a RB this transfer window. But as it did come to an end, we'd have had to go out of way to offer him a new contract - and he's have had to accept it. So to me, what we have done makes sense.

I agree in principle but Clyne will be first choice and doesn't appear to be injury-prone (although obviously anyone can break a leg or something) so the difficulty is getting someone good enough who's prepared to sit on the bench most of the season. We have plenty of options who can play there - Cork, Lovren, Yoshida, Chambers so I wouldn't be too concerned if we went with what we have. It's the same reason I think Fox will stay as back up at left back.

Chambers was brought into the main squad near the end if the season so Pochettino obviously likes something he has seen in him.

Sun reports we're close to Wanyama for 15m and Stoch for 5m. (At that price Stoch would be great business)

Tom Boyd reckons he's worth 25m.

Lee isn't staying in Japan, comments on not being good enough. Worrying.

Yep Lee had a go at their manager for not playing him even tho he played ****.

Royston Drenthe to Reading is a done deal for sure now. A free transfer and a 3 year deal.
Adkins' two signings so far (Wayne Bridge being the other) are pretty decent in my opinion.

We were linked with Jesus Gamez towards the end of last season, who would have been perfect. All seems to have gone quiet on that front but may be to do with the change of manager at Malaga.

He would be perfect if he was willing to likely be a second choice, if he were to come in then there would probably be a 'competition' between him and Clyne, but I think it's a competition that Clyne would win as I really rate him. Gamez would be ideal as a second choice, and would allow us to rotate our full-backs a lot plus he would be a beefy presence for tough games against Stoke, West Ham and the like, but I think there are a long list of clubs on a similar standing to us who would make him first choice.

You would think people would go for the simplest explanation, that he's simply a good prospect. Some people seem like they can't let go of this idea that Cortese is interfering everywhere and running the show. Is there even any evidence for that?

Course not. It's an absurd notion, but once you get a bug in your ass about something, it seems that there are a few people that shut up shop and look for any opportunity that presents itself to have a go at him.
