Good to hear I hope this puts to rest at least some of those stereotypes about 'Ull. Un-bloody-likely though sadly.
Hasnt it previously been held by Liverpool and Glasgow? How did perception of those work out? Regardless of that, it helps pump money in to the City and can't actually do us any harm, so fingers crossed, and fingers crossed we've replaced some of our Councillors by then too.
No it's a different thing altogether. I think that was European and this is just the UK. Although, the current holders of it is Londonderry in NI.
It's had a massive effect on the facilities in Liverpool and it's estimated that it generated £130m.
I'm well aware of the benefits, which is why I hope Hull wins it, I meant how did other peoples perceptions of Liverpool or Glasgow change as a result? Not by much I suspect judging by any references to Scots or Scousers in recent days, and I dont expect a massive shift in outsiders views of our glorious city either. I guess if we just won over a few, it would be a victory for us, same as the others.
I lived in Chester for 2 years, I don't see what all the fuss is about. It's not a patch on York. Plus traffic on race days around Chester is just murder. Nice to visit, but **** to live there.
Havent you just described York there? Saying that York is the worst for traffic Ive ever experienced on a normal day, never mind race day.
