That's what I got on the QPR board for most of last season.I think they came round to my way of seeing things eventually.
QPR forward Jay Bothroyd, 31, wants to leave Harry Redknapp's side after invoking a relegation clause in his contract. I always liked him and was suprised when TP had him on loan but never played him. He can double as a winger and striker and although ageing has more pace and ability than the likes of Walters. Cardiff will pay Blackpool £8m for winger Tom Ince, 21, although his former club Liverpool have an option to match the bid. Think this is abit steep for an unproven premier league player, but has bundles of talent and is both young and english which is a bonus. I would like to see us move on a player like this.
@pottersnews: Championship - Middlesbrough chasing Whitehead // http://t.co/8Dz9xWGMFN http://t.co/Me0kUOS62L Good luck to him. Grafter he was but is really a championship player at best.
@StokeLoudProud: Kenwyne Jones we are told has now got several clubs interested and talks are now taking place. But Stoke will... http://t.co/9OrP70W8eB 12 minutes ago · I dont know how true this is as i have not being told, this is just a rumour on twitter, but Stoke City have held discussions with the representatives of Roque Santa Cruz today, the player is a free agent this summer (Marc)
I hope the days of trying to get a bargain on deadline day are over. You get what you pay for ( or not even that ) and to think that there is a diamond hidden in the crumbs on the last day would be a false hope. The manager should know the players who would strengthen our team , and he should be taking steps to get them at the earliest opportunity. Of course at the moment many of the personnel to be involved are still on holiday , but it would help if new players could be here for when the team assemble for pre-season training.
Indeed we are. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-transfer-news-danny-rose-1980783 We seems to be getting linked with a lot of left backs. I was impressed with Rose at Sunderland, I'm pretty sure if we go in for him we'll be in a bidding war with your lot Bri, as the article says he was one of your best players last season.
Ian Holloway making enquiries into the availability of Adam and Jerome. Wouldn't want either of these 2 to go to be honest. Swansea are welcome to Jones though but for 3 million, seems like another big waste again of Coates money!
Would prefer them to sell Crouch rather than Jones as I think Jones is more versatile and has got a couple of years left in him, I know he can be a lazy b*astard but we can get more out of him with better service. I don't think we have seen the end of the Pulis legacy as yet, he managed to cut some big old holes in Mr Coates pockets.
â@MichaelBridge_: Spoke to Danny Rose last night. I wouldn't be surprised to see him re-join Sunderland.â He's top of my shopping list. Looks like we may have left an impression on him. Hope it's enough. Sort of player you want to be linked with like. Not a Sparky fan but surely this an improvement in target from previous seasons.
Nice to see Coates talking sense and it seems to have shifted since TP's departure? The article in the rag today makes reference to Palcious being given the chance to prove his ability/fitness and the need for a LB after Marc Wilson was bought in as a "midfielder"!
That's big money but to be fair I would snap their hand off - not because I necessarily want rid but because that would go a long way towards getting the right type of striker for us to move forward - plus that would be a break even on a player who has had limited pitch time in the last 2 seasons. I am feeling more optimistic that we could salvage some decent funds from players that we wont be using moving forward and more importantly make a massive saving on resurrecting some of the players who have been forgotten or misused under TP i.e. Palcious, Pennant, Wilson, Geoff Cameron etc...
I've not seen enough of Palacious to make my mind up but I agree with the rest of them, we could have a really useful side with players in the correct positions and and few additions.
