Mauricio may not be so set on the young lads/bring them on style of management. Wouldn't be able to convince NC to lay out big money on an oldie, but he might be able to convince him to sign an experienced player on a free who could give us a couple of years. Remember MP and NC are still in the honeymoon period.

Holy Sh*t, this would be an incredible signing. One of the best playmakers in La Liga and that is saying something. Very much in the Riquelme mould, maybe lacks a little pace but has amazing vision and technique.

With Valencia's financial problems and there failure to get champions league qualification I imagine he is a possibility. Though I would have thought he would be on the radar of most top clubs around europe.

I find this extremely hard to believe. Banega is really good, he'll go for more and to a better team if he leaves.

What about Scott Sinclair instead of Bueno? Was very good while at Swansea, but unsurprisingly didn't get much of a look in at City. Now with Navas joining he is probably even more of a surplus to their requirements. They'd probably be happy recouping what they got for him - around £6m - which is similar to the touted Bueno fee? His brother is also in our academy, not sure that means much though!

Is he about to snort a line of charlie?

Been looking for someone at Saints to fill Beatts shoes in that regard.
 
Banega is a qulity player but not 100% sure how he'd fit in. Saw with QPR that Granero didn't really work despite him being a fantastic signing and a bit of a coup. More than happy with Schneiderlin, Cork, Davis, JWP as our deeper options and if we were to sign competition I'd robably rather a tall powerful midfielder to completement and add balance. Might just be me though, and Banega is an excellent passer of the ball from deep.

Priority has to be other areas though, namely final third and defenders. Noticed Swansea are quite heavily linked with Jordi Amat from Espanyol. Just turned 21 , Spanish U21 international and former MP player. Might be one we have also considered?
