And don't forget that Bayern and Barcelona get a winter break and plenty of rest and relaxation playing teams they can beat in their sleep. English teams get no break, competitive league matches every week and F.A.Cup & League Cup games to juggle. It translate into a significant disadvantage for CL games. The fact that English teams have such a strong record in the CL is testament to the strength of the PL, even if this year was poor by the standards set.
This advantage is negated by Barca and Real spending the winter break flying around the world to take part in friendlies to boost brand awareness (or, as normal people call it, boosting the coffers with meaningless friendlies around the world)
Well DL, it would seem a number of posters agree you ain't got a clue what you're talking about. You come here for a chat about totally unresearched nonsense, why?, now IF you can find a few bellends here to converse with similarly, may I ask you to take them with you and confine it to one thread, you're clogging conversations between knowledgable posters...some may see it as intentional 'de-railing', we wouldn't want that would we!
Agreed. This topic has been regurgitated every fortnight for about a year now. Frankly its mind numbingly boring to go over the same subject over and over again, we all know your views DL, and have done for some time. Very few people agreed with you when you first brought it up, and you've failed to convert any followers as far as I can tell.
If you look back through the thread I never regurgitated the topic and resisted initial provocation to respond until I was directly asked to give an opinion. It's perfectly understandable why people would want to believe they play in the best league, especially when Sky constantly feed the "best league in the world" line, but I just have a different opinion based on watching other leagues and comparing performances in Europe. I'll leave it at that though, I'd rather talk about something else... Interesting that City have yet to announce Pellegrini, can't help but feel they wanted to wait till all the Mourinho euphoria was done with.
What a shame thats not enough for an informed opinion! I shall stop teasing too. I've not heard Pellegrini confirmed, I think both their signings were while managerless, hope he wanted them, actually i don't really!
It's ok, all good natured. Would be interesting to know if Pellegrini had a say? Doesn't seem a manager that fancies wide players. At Villarreal he built his team around Riquelme (and Senna), and at Malaga it was Cazorla (and then Isco), which makes the signing of Jesus Navas all the more bizarre. And Navas said he decided 4 months ago he'd join City. It seems like Soriano and Begristain (excuse spelling) are having more of a say than we think. Suggests Writing was in the wall for Mancini a while ago.
Notso's had a go at Thor but Asgard endures. No point in having a go at a poster because if you're all like me it goes in one and straight out of the other. I can't accept DL is wishy washy.
? What? I've never had a go at you, nor have I had 'a go at' DL, in the sense your meaning either, he even stated its good natured banter, have I got to put a smiley on the end of every comment for it to be taken in good nature. If I'm going to have a go at someone in the way you mean I'll do it by PM. Hopefully you can chill out now man!
