At a guess, his contract may be signed and sealed - but as he resigned from Roma, rather than being released after the two clubs came to an agreement, he cannot officially begin his duties with Spurs until July 1st.

I wouldn't be too disappointed with Owen Coyle as manager, though I am now very much of the opinion that AVB is the direction that we should be headed, if we have any ambition of playing CL football.

What you on about? There'll still be plenty of time left until the last day of the Summer transfer window. We don't usually try to do any business until then, so there's no panic.
Whilst he may not be able to officially start his position until then, there's no reason he can't advise Levy and/or AVB about players we should look to bring in.
Think about it this way - we were negotiating with Sigurdsson the week before AVB was unveiled, and once he was unveiled as our manager he met with Siggy and the deal was quickly finalised.

That has to be a probability. If so, that saves Ashley about 8 years salary in compensation.
If Kinnear's comments are real, then I think it undermines Graham Carr's position as well.
