So, let's get this straight: England haven't won a major tournament in nearly fifty years (and that was with home advantage) yet you think England has a realistic chance of winning a tournament?

Since England last won a major trophy man has landed on the moon, the first test-tube baby was born, the Rubik's cube was invented, Britain had its first woman Prime Minister, Chernobyl exploded, the Berlin Wall was knocked down and America elected a black man.

And England have failed to reach the final of any major tournament its entered since 1966. Even countries that no longer exist (Czechoslovakia) have won major tournaments more recently than you.

One of the Scottish Rags have Balde in Glasgow for a medical today after agreeing a 1.5 million fee , but the English papers are saying Crystal Palace have come in at the last minute with a better deal .

Balde this morning had a Celtic scarf outside the airport.

First question from a journo (Mark Benstead): "Why did you choose Celtic and not Crystal Palace?"

Talking the game down and taking a wage for it. Do you think, had he gone to Croydon, the first question would've been: "So, why a club who are going to struggle to stay up rather than a crack at the Champion's League with Celtic?"

No, they wouldn't.
