I cannot understand why it's Stoke that keep getting mentioned. Surely if he's a viable target for them, then he definitely is for us. I can't understand why we wouldn't be in for him, if he's cheaper than Nainggolan.
I'm sure we are in for him, but there's a lot of elements to consider. For a start I think it's notable that we were among the lowest spenders on agents last year. I agree absolutely that we should avoid paying those guys but I'm hoping Cortese realises at the same time that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Or that the greased palm gets wheels turning. Or however that is supposed to go. Spend money, buy fools.
I know that one article slating Cortese suggested that the fact that agents found him impossible was a bad thing. Ain't necessarily so.
Looks like Ramirez is happy for now. Thought he'd probably stay another season at least. He also makes a little mention on Bueno.

I don't know about that article but I know when the BBC put up the figures on agent spends for last summer, we were nearly last IIRC. Not a bad thing by any means, but if it gets the job done, a little 'motivation' might be necessary in order to compete.
The best bit about that article, apart from him wanting to stay, is the reference to the possibility of Bueno joining as well!
Heard from a contact at sfc last night that we have 2 players comming and will be announced early next week total cost is 17 mil , one was astori but he couldnt remember the other players name. I normally would have laughed it off but he was right about gaston signing when everyone laughed and said it wouldnt happen.... Hope he's right again.
I doubt we'll sign more than 1 centre back, as I can't see Yoshida, Forren or Fonte going. Yoshida and Forren are both, by centre back standards, young with good potential, and Fonte brings so much to the team in terms of leadership and influence; he's been captain on numerous occasions. In all honesty I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hooiveld still playing the odd game, as Poch brought him into it a lot more as the season progressed. If we are to keep all 4 of them, or even 3 of them, signing more than 1 centre back would be odd. The pathway to the 1st team would be far too congested for youth players.

Unless the rumours of a 352 formation are accurate. In which case we'd need a minimum of 5 quality centrebacks.
Not sure I like the sound of the formation, but yes, we would certainly need 5 if that was the case.
