No. Fellaini is the sort of player we need, a bruiser who takes no ****. Fabregas would just be a luxury signing. I'd rather him go elsewhere so we get half of the transfer fee, then put that to use on players we actually need. On current form, Santi owns Cesc. People only want Cesc back for nostalgic reasons. If i want nostalgia, i watch Total Recall, not waste 25 million on a luxury signing.
Fabregas doesn't appear to want to move back to Arsenal, and Barca done want to sell him. I'd love to have both, but failing that, Fellaini would be a great buy, and would improve Arsenal hugely.
To be honest I would pick Fabregas over just about any midfielder out there but I think he wants to stay for at least another year and Barcelona ar'nt willing to let him go yet either. If this Season is'nt better for him - he will leave.
My only worry about buying Fellain is that it would be like buying an injury prone player. You know that he is going to miss games during the season, you only have to look at his disciplinary record to see that.
I think Fellani would be a massive gamble. Gets himself sent off too many times, he would be expensive and I'm not sure he would suit our style of play anyway. I'd much rather we had a skillful ball playing midfielder (Fabregas) than a battering ram like Fellani.
I'm going to disagree with you here (unusual). I think looking at his age, ball skills and ability, I think he can fit into our team. He is going to need to adapt, but there is no reason he can't change his style of play. I think this guy actually suits both camps in the debate. He does have size and aggression, but he has the skills to play as well, and he is still only 25! Not only that, but he has played alongside Arteta before (added bonus). I must calm down, too many disappointments in the past, but if it happens...
Absolutely agree Toledo. Small, skillful CMs are not what Arsenal require, as they have them in huge abundance. Fellaini has ability, but is also tall & physical. He would be a great fit.
As I say - I am not that concerned about getting a big guy first and a player second, but if we can get a big guy who is a player as well, then everyone is happy. BTW - Interesting on the Rooney rumour http://redlondon.net/2013/06/07/wayne-rooney-makes-hint-of-arsenal-transfer-on-twitter/
As much as Cesc is a class player and an Arsenal legend, he isn't the kind of midfielder we need at the moment. Fellaini has always been a player I have admired and I think he'd be a great signing.
More from the twitter'verse - Argentina are in Colombia tonight and a Colombian radio station is claiming to have been told by Higuain's people that his move to Arsenal is a done deal.
I've seen various Tweets about Higuain and was wondering why Colombian radio would be reporting it A story to get the rumour mill going into overdrive http://redlondon.net/2013/06/07/wayne-rooney-makes-hint-of-arsenal-transfer-on-twitter/
Meanwhile... a Samoan Radio station has reported we got Jovetic and a Portuguese Radio Station that Lima (Benfica) to Arsenal is a done deal. Hmmm. please log in to view this image
