That's a long video and I got bored, basically it was him getting hacked down and no assist or goal. He looks quick, but didn't see anything outstanding. £8 million seems hig. Hope if he is the one who signed today that the valuation is press inflated.

The video is in sections, assists about half way through when "assists" appears at the bottom of the screen, goals at 3/4 way through. There are some real good goals, a lot of poached loose balls and a serious amount of comedy defending.

"I wouldn't spend that money on this kind of player for the 'future' "

I kind of agree.

However, a club like us has to roll the dice with youth talent to some extent, we can't wait for talent to be proven beyond doubt, because once it is, they ain't coming here and we are priced out the market. I'm happy (as long as it's affordable) to take a pop on an exotic youth talent each Summer, as long as we buy proven players as well.

I would agree, but then I think of the fact that we have Callum Chambers already, and considering we like to build from within, I would personally discount at least one, if not both of them, at this moment in time anyway.

Chambers is more a rb these days.

Very useful to have in and around the squad when he's ready. Always room for someone versatile in the squad.

According to soccerway Bueno has played 1897 mins in 28 games scoring 8 goals.

Would be a good signing, was hailed as the new Recoba in Uruguay. I have seen him play a couple of times this year in the copa libitadores against Boca IIRC. Great touch, good pace, was playing more of a lone striker role when I saw him, although he does love to run the channels and was heavily linked with signing for CSKA at the time. We made a bid for him last summer which was reported at 6 million dollars.

He is someone I would be very happy with, as I think he would fit in well with the system we play and bring something a little different to what we have. I think it is a better signing than say Aspas (who I rate highly) at Liverpool, similar players.

Firstly, I agree with the poster that said clubs of our size need to roll the dice every now and again, because if it pays off, we either make profit or have a great talent on our books. It's a risk worth taking, especially with the increase in Premier League TV money.

And also, in response to baggs, it seems this Uruguyan is worth a punt if he is contending with the likes of Aspas in the "good signing" stakes.
