No thanks on Rooney. He is not a player that is going to last long on the elite level, because he is simply not a top professional.
Better than any forward player we currently have and also better than any player we have been linked too. I would take him in a heartbeat, don't think he will leave UTD and even if he does we couldn't afford his 250k pw salary. But I would definitely take him.
I think Higuain would suit Arsenal better than Rooney would. Higuain is a class act, he is just unlucky that Madrid only play with one striker and he is up against Benzema who I think offers a bit more.
Wenger on Rooney: "Rooney could be an interesting player for everybody in the world, who would turn him down?" Wenger told Al Jazeera. "David Moyes' first challenge is to go in to Manchester and bridge the gap between him and Rooney. If that is feasible or not depends on his personality and if Rooney bears a grudge or not, we will see. "It will be interesting to see how that will be handled." Wenger on Fabregas: "I think at the moment he's lacking the confidence of being a regular player," added Wenger. "Recently he has not been that. "Cesc is such a passionate player, a player of such quality, that it must hurt him not to play in every single game. That's what he misses. When you come in and out you never play with full confidence." Anything to be read into either of those comments?
He obviously appreciates them both for the top players they are and I think given the chance he would have both in our team. If Rooney wants a fresh challenge and is up for it, then he could be one of the best signings we make and with Fabregas too, both proven premier league players at the top level, playing for Arsenal ? Yes please
Some talk of signing Michu in today's papers. I wouldn't necessarily be against it, not sure. Thoughts?
Ramsey calls for us to sign Wanyama: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...-to-sign-10m-Celtic-powerhouse-Victor-Wanyama
He was in Africa at the time and was asked about their local hero. he was hardly going to say, "He is crap and I don't think we should sign him."
I was gonna ask the same thing - Not sure one season where he has been really successful he might get found out next year who knows? We have seen it happen often. I would rather go for someone more established over time your Rooneys, Higuains, Gomezs. Time to push the boat out and go big. Again I wouldn't be unhappy if he was our only striker purchase but I would rather go bigger.
Just found this youtube page - Videos on player especially youngsters, I am guessing they will add more. - http://www.youtube.com/user/ScoutNationHD?feature=watch On that topic this is what they have on Vela - At 4mn buyback I would take him, better than Gervinho and Oxo ( currently)
Vela seems to have bulked up a bit and is more mature in front of goal. I see he got over his ridiculous "chip the goalkeeper at every attempt" way of finishing too. Better than Gervinho, though still not the quality we're all wanting to see. Would he keep Pod out of the team? Doubt it. As a squad player though, sure.
The way I see it would be to sell Gerv bring in Vela as Like for Like replacement. He is no means the solution to a WC CF, for me ideally this would bet our front three setup LWF Pod and RWF Theo - With Oxo and Vela as backups CF Higuain and Giroud as backup. And all these players bar Giroud can play across the front 3
Really, not like you took my comment out of context. Not one person reading that will believe it was a serious comment, but enjoy!
Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna confirms he is in talks to extend his contract, but has not ruled out a return to France in the future. Sagna, 30, is entering the final season of his current deal, with Paris St-Germain and Monaco said to be monitoring the situation. Speaking to L'Equipe, Sagna said: "There are talks but I still haven't extended my contract. I am talking, and I am not at a bad club either. When asked whether he could return to play in France, Sagna, who is currently on international duty, added: "It is possible." * I'd like to see him stay for another year.
Likewise. I know he had a few dodgy moments this season, and he's definitely lost a yard of pace since his double leg break, but he is still a top quality RB and I think we would miss him. As much as I like Jenkinson, I think we might struggle at RB over the course of a season if we sold Sagna and didn't replace him.
