I know it's been banded around a lot - but looks like Larsson is pretty much in the bag.

Sebastian Larsson's agent expects the midfielder to make a decision on his future by the second week of June.

Skysports.com revealed earlier in May that Sunderland are leading the chase for the 25-year-old after Black Cats boss Steve Bruce signed Larsson during his time in charge at Birmingham.

Larsson is currently away on international duty and his representative Per Jonsson acknowledged the player enjoyed his time working with Bruce at St Andrew's.

"Obviously Seb has got a good relationship with Steve Bruce and Eric Black (Sunderland assistant manager).

"Steve was the manager at Birmingham before and took him to Birmingham and he made his breakthrough under him there. You can see they have a good relationship from that."

Seems like we've got a better case than most for him to join us :emoticon-0103-cool:

Would love someone who can take set pieces to a good standard...Too often this season our corners havent beaten the first defender and there really isnt an excuse for that at the top level

Getting back to the OP, apart from being a very good set piece specialist, he is also a great crosser of a ball. He will definitely add quality to the squad and no transfer fee to pay either, so happy days :)

Can he play on either wing, or just right wing?

I've never seen him on the left Dorset, but i'm sure he was a CM initially.

He's great on the ball, he just lacks pace to beat a man, but we've had first hand experience a couple of times off how devastating his delivery can be.

Bruce makes **** signings like

Yeah Bramble for 750k, Bent, Sessegnon, Mignolet for 600k, Gyan...... yep **** signings.

Every gaffer signs a few duffers, not many brought unknowns like Valencia, Palacios etc over for ****ing peanuts.

He didn't sign Perch, Kuqi or Sol Campbell mind.

Yes, I read somewhere that he prefers a CM role, but can play on the right wing. I haven't seen that much of him TBH, but what I have seen has been impressive. I can't see SB playing him out on the right with JH out there, so see him playing down the middle leaving Sess to run the left wing, which is not ideal as Sess looks better in the attacking midfield role.

Hmmm. The more I write, the more I think 5 man midfield may be in SB's plans.

I really want this one to happen, Seb is a player i can instantly see a benefit to the team from.

If he was a bit quicker, he'd be a potential top 4 player.

yes i agree he will benifit the team but we still need more class <bubbly>

He's not exactly a signing to take us to the next level - I am hoping he will be a squad player as he is very slow, a poor man's David Beckham.

Hope I am proved wrong, though I feel we are getting our hopes up a bit with this potential signing.

This guy is better than you think, till now he has only played in **** teams, hes better than Bolo only 25 and free, has more pace than Steed Bolo and a few other i could mention, this is a terrific signing if it come off.

Massive step up in dead ball situations if it comes off, know his pace isnt the best but when you consider Bolo n Steed then its hardly as step back! Hopefully with this addition Turner Bramble Anton etc can chip in with a few goals which can make a massive difference in close games/striker on bad form/playing top 6 team.
