I would be surprised if we signed Malouda as he was frozen out at Chelsea in his final year for refusing to move for less than 80,000p/w. He was actually playing well for Chelsea if I recall, and only got frozen out after they replaced him with Mata.

We will see, not the most inspiring signing but I think he'd do fairly well as long as he was on lower wages. I'm not against it, but I'd prefer we focus on younger players.

No harm getting him in and taking a look I suppose. He'd be decent but yeah, hardly inspiring.

A lot depends on fitness. At 31/32 and after a season of Resbien and youth team football, how long is it going to take for him to get in the right kinda shape for us and can he do it at all?

Could be something as simple as Malouda just RT'ing a picture as a way of "saying hi" to the lad who tweeted him's son.

Still, bizarre.

So the picture isn't of Malouda's kid? And this other guy happens to have a son with the same name as Malouda's kid?

This isn't helping my understanding of the situation <laugh>

Maybe it is Malouda's kid but he's staying with this other guy in the Southampton area or something?

Doubt it. I will re-explain. Malouda said he was heading back to England yesterday.

Today, he tweeted "training now!!!" - to which, some bloke called Tony, who is a Liverpool fan based in Hampshire, replied "enjoy! say hi to Aaron :)" with a picture of a kid at Staplewood.

Malouda then RT'd the picture, effectively sharing it.

Yeah none of that's in dispute, but Malouda has a son called Aaron. Which suggests to me it is a picture of Malouda's kid (and he bears more than a passing resemblance).

Why would some guy send Malouda a picture of his son if Malouda was in Southampton? It doesn't make sense.

I couldn't be more confused if I tried. We've moved on from player's cars in car parks to player's children in car parks on Twitter. :headbang:

What am I complaining for, this is what transfer windows are all about! 2 + 1 = 3,345,829

I don't understand. Why is the other guy tweeting a picture of Malouda's son? Surely Malouda know's where he and his son are? Lolol

Well I briefly looked at the guy who tweeted Malouda, he has about 40 pictures of that kid on his twitter, mostly in various kits at different academies and matches, I think it's fairly safe to say it's his son. Where that leaves us in regards to Malouda at Staplewood I don't even want to get into, though!

Fair play. Maybe it's his son then, in fact, most likely is. So why on earth does this Hampshire man have pictures of Malouda's son?

As I theorised earlier, we know that some of the academy kids stay with local families, so maybe he is his guardian or something, and as such a friend of Malouda himself.

It's a bit of an assumption but it would certainly suggest that Malouda is not in Southampton.

For our 25 Man Squad next year, excluding incoming transfers, I can imagine:

Goalkeepers:
Kelvin Davis
Artur Boruc
Paulo Gazzaniga (under 21)

Defenders:
Clyne
Yoshida
Hooivelt
Fonte
Fox
Forren
Shaw (Under 21)
Chambers (Under 21)
Targett (Under 21)

Midfielders:
Schneiderlin
Steven Davis
JWP (Under 21)
Cork
Lallana
Ramírez
Guly
Puncheon

Strikers:
Lambert
Rodriguez
Mayuka

Thats a total of 18 players, leaving out the likes of:
Richardson
Butterfield
Chaplow
de Ridder
Lee
Sharp
Hammond

10 of the above players are English (/home-grown)

Our squad number usually ends up at about 22/23, so I can see 4-5 players coming in. A goalkeeper is not necessary. A centre back would be awesome so we could get rid of Hooivelt. Another winger would be great to cover suspensions/injuries and another striker as Lambert is getting older and Mayuka hasn't really found any form. I want Guly to stay and I think Poch will decide to keep Fox as he acts as adequate back up for Shaw.
