Best memory, seeing it for the first time! First visit was a night game in League 2, March of 2003 I think it was Torquay. Seeing it lit up as I walked up to the ground and then hearing the music. Unbelievable.
Hull 4 - 0 Luton Dads birthday treat and first time he'd been to the KC. Was expecting us to get beaten. Brilliant day out that.
Probably when Tottenham spanked us was the best time. What a show they put on, I've never seen such quality football in the flesh before or since. It was a priveledge to witness despite it being my team on the end of it.
Does anyone remember (I think it was the season before we last won promotion, or even the one before that?) when Stoke came to visit on a mid week kick off in the Championship and they had the Army put on a show at HT. Then one of them came out in Roary's costume and beat the lot of them up. I seem to remember saying at the time that was the highlight of that particular season.
It was the beginning of the end for Darlington in the major football leagues as ultimately you headed to the top and we sunk into the minor leagues. At least we did beat you in your last league game at Boothferry Park.
The 2-1 against QPR with Elliott coming on was brilliant. Also from that season the 4-1 against Cardiff I agree with, my favourite I think may of been 2-1 against Fulham though.
Don't know if it's been mentioned, but the game against Swansea when we beat them to go top and it was absolutely packed with some fans locked out the Stadium. Stuart Elliott scored the winner. That is definitely one of the best.
I don't think we've ever beaten Luton 4-0 at the KC, we lost 4-0 to them in 2002 and we beat them 3-0 in 2004, so I assume it's that one you're thinking of?
Closely matched by Chelsea beating us 3-0 when Lampard scored that superb chip. In Fact he was class that night
Is that the game were Cook got sent off for them for 2 yellow cards late in the game and the second one was for being a drama queen complaining about the goal? If so can I just add to that memory with the amusement of knowing that game he was one yellow card away from a ban. If he'd just got the first yellow card he'd have missed his 2 games and then come back clean. Because he got the second one he missed a game for the red card and came back from the ban still one card away from a ban. He then got booked before the deadline and missed another 2 so he basically got an extra game suspension for complaining about the ref allowing our goal to stand. When I put that video on youtube (the one that someone posted above*) I was surprised to find out that the Rochdale and Bristol Rovers goals were the only goals he scored that season. None from set pieces or anything like that. Throw in the cross-come-shot against Boston as the last City goal scored at Boothferry Park and he didn't really seem to score typical centre back goals. *the username if it hasn't changed yet was a random player off football manager when I set the account up and didn't want to use genuine information until I saw what I could restrict
