Wigan's win backs the point I made earlier in the season - get to the Prem before worry about silverware. Even the small Prem clubs (Wigan, Pompey, Swansea) are in with a shout because of the quality of players you can attract there. Not sure where the rumours about Mancini originated but if there's any truth in them, then they could have had a big impact on that result. This is why the local media, fans and board should support their manager all the way rather than assuming they know the final outcome before it happens. Football is very unpredictable. Actually that's pretty appalling if you analyse it ... 12 seasons and the top man only has 61, half of which were scored in a League 1 campaign. Ignoring those that only played a handful of games the most impressive stat has to be Andy King finishing second from midfield.
