I am one well pleased francophile this morning. I hope L'Equipe have picked this up. We always knew this boy would be special, and he's shown us his true self this season.

Oh and Mauricio says away fans are "crazy" so that's official then. Those of us who have ever travelled with the Saints know the truth of this - best fans in the world.

Feel proud to be a Saint this morning. Coffee and croissants anyone?

As my friend who is studying Spanish to a pretty high level has said...

"He speaks good English, people just don't understand that it's hard to understand colloquial English as someone learning the language. You pick it up and can answer anything you understand. People should try learning Spanish. His forming of English is fine when he understands what is being asked of him."

Conversely, the same can be said the other way round. I'm fluent in Spanish and can assure you that his translator doesn't relly get MP's points across in the interview. It's very much over-simplified!

Ed welcomes Honorary President Terry Paine: "Loyalty isn't a word I use a lot in football, but it applies to this man."

Great to see Terry Paine there. We often criticise Cortese for not acknowledging Saints' history but he is the first chairman to officially recognise Paine's contribution to the club.

Cortese looking suave as always. Top geez. It would be a crying shame if he left.

And JWP was always going to beat Shaw to Scholar of the Year.
I mean, how could Shaw possibly win it when his IQ is about 30. James speaks so well and is a great representation for what our academy does besides from producing footballing talent; it produces well-rounded people.

Morgan, well, it's all been said before, hasn't it? Great guy.

Good to see Ed presenting it again.

Another hindsight genius! How on earth did you know??

Looking at this picture you can see that James has been a well brought up boy. The right shirt and tie, just the right amount of cuff showing, well groomed and at ease. He could be a famous film star - the next James Bond maybe if he can keep his hair. His mum should be proud.

As for Morgan and Jason they both look uncomfortable and out of place. Whoever measured Morgan for that jacket needs retraining or perhaps a different career.

Or two of them are allowed to drink.

(I know JWP is 18.)

Because if it's a question of scholar rather than young player, it's obviously more rounded than just on-pitch achievements, so it's not too hard to work out.

Hence the flood of correct calls on here before the award - of course, nothing's hard to work out with the benefit of hindsight!
That's why so many posters on here 'almost' win money on countless bets, cos they were going to put money down on what is after the fact quite an 'obvious' scoreline.

I know it was a tongue in cheek post by Jake, though. I don't really get the point of the award, anyway - we're a football club, not a university.

The results are in and have been counted Nigel Adkins [0]: Mauricio Pochettino [0] or both equal [0] a conclusive outcome, no one cares.
