At this moment Telford and Swords have got what they want...looks like three of us are teetering!
B@@@@@@ds

Beth I want nothing of the sort. Please read my post #191 above, particularly these parts.

Established posters may leave a message board because of the arguments that trolls ignite, and lurkers (people who read but do not post) may decide that they do not want to expose themselves to abuse and thus never get involved.

Another problem is that the negative emotions stirred up by trolls leak over into other discussions. Normally affable people can become bitter after reading an angry interchange between a troll and his victims, and this can poison previously friendly interactions between long-time users.

The Internet is a wonderful resource which is breaking down barriers and stripping away prejudice. Trolls threaten our continued enjoyment of this beautiful forum for ideas.

Words I didn't write, but sum up my position perfectly.

Sorry mate, I dont agree with that at all. If only I knew how to include the quotes in previous thread.

many of the arguments, discussions and heated debates I've experienced on here are with established posters. Many whom refuse to see other peoples views & rightly or wrongly flare up over the most ridiculous things even when the evidence is there in front of them.
think of all the Adel, supporter v fan and Colin threads, that have become heated. None of them were because of trolls, WUMs or any other wind up. they were because usually reasonable people refuse to accept that others have a right to an opinion.

As for the last paragraph, lets re-write it shall we.
the internet is a wonderful resource when used correctly. When abused it can spread malice, hatred and racism. It alone is soley responisble for a large number of marraige & relaitionship break up, self harm through cyber bullying and promotion of predudice. Trolls are just another part of this beautifull forum.

Makes just as much sense as the previous [post to me!

Fair enough QL. I'm here to challenge my own views and see how they hold up. In the light of your post I have to tell you they haven't changed.

I like to read and soak but sorry haven't learnt anything really here, you have your opinion and i don't block that. I base my opinion on historical facts on here and that's the way i come to conclusions. I still believe I am right and nothing anyone says will make me like or dislike any poster. Swords is a character and has an unique style on here that many find difficult to understand or talk to ... I don't ... in fact I don't any problems with anyone really because its just an internet forum and a source of entertainment as most social media is. I would point to any evidence re Swords this way: Posters find time to comment for example to attack with posts openly like get him off or ban him ... search through there are plenty of examples. He is not popular? .. think again he is ... its just that the people who understand this cant be bothered with the petty use of using some rules to get the mods to act. This has compounded over time to a point whereupon politics has won over plain common sense IMO.

Swords has to also learn that if he gives it he takes it back and when you get a load of open posts calling for bans etc anyone would get fired up. This entire thread is completely daft ... Swords could of complained privately yet wrongly chose open forum because i expect he feels an injustice ... recently he was subjected to comments about legal action and abuse which was very funny. Brixton also has found it necessary to use open forum where this could have been settled in PM's maybe? Brixton of course is an excellent member/mod/poster of all of this ... everyone knows that ... it's a given. To then come out and make a him or me statement is frankly very strange IMO and it's poured petrol on a crazy fire. I fully understand the frustration that Brixton must face when trying to deal with this and this last attack by Swords is simply in my mind old wounds and run ins that were never dealt with correctly in the past by all parties!

Swords may go... he may have gone and I expect that many posters may understand this and the reasons why?

However I bet he comes back and i fully expect Cerny to return to contribute ... why because they are part of the whole on here and what this comic a good read.

We are all bound to get pissed off after this season and I sincerely believe that's where a lot of this anxst is coming from.

Telford I have endless hectares of self - regarding bullshit ... in fact i am the Burj Khalifa of self-regarding Bullshit and funny thing is I fully understand that but some of them are super quality ... thank you for reading them

More evasion.

Let me spell it out again...

There is no shadowy cabal of posters, exchanging PM's and "forcing" mods to act. There's just you, Grifter and Swords making ridiculous and unfounded allegations that none of you can substantiate.

Trolling or cognitive dissonance? Either way it's sad.

"...in fact i am the Burj Khalifa of self-regarding Bullshit."

<laugh>

Don't undersell yourself. Think Olympus Mons and keep going. <ok>

You really need to get off the fence. <laugh>

ok then telford
I don't know swords
saint or Brixton

I like what I read from them all

I think swords should pull his head in every now and then
I don't think he should be banned
I think Brixton has let this spiral out of control
I have sent a pm to matt saying brix should stay and the willy waving contest should end
at the end of the day I doubt 3 people would say he should leave let alone 15
maybe he wants a break and would rather be pushed than take the jump himself
it seems a lot of work being a mod with little thanks

by the way brix
thanks for the job you do
cant be easy at times

Thanks Kiwi.

No willy waving about it tbh.

The trouble with the net and site's like this, is that very basic human need for order - even in such intangible wilderness. Why bother to moderate anything?

I do it, not because I agree with the concept of modding sites but because it's there to do and I enjoy an intriguing (management-related) challenge.

And you and others are half right, this isn't (and is) still a Swords thread...

And I and (though I haven't discussed it with him) Telford have hijacked it. Oh, naughty Brixton! Now why might that be, I imagine you asking.

Could it be a need to draw attention to myself by going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on purely for the hell of it - and in defiance of all rhyme, reason and agreed rules, without a care in the world for what anyone else thinks?

Food for thought maybe.

As for Telford: jugular style, obviously not everyone's cuppa but in the context of internet practices, if we read and think about what he says, not far wide of the mark is he?

I was only joking tbf, but a well considered reply Kiwi. Thank you.
