Now I will spend a fruitless afternoon trying to work out who exactly is the Archduke Ferdinand and preparing myself for 4 years of slaughter on a massive scale.

Your Dear Leader reference may be eerily accurate though. As well you know. Uncle Josef tactics were always effective.

It's all about lighting the blue touchpaper and standing back. How many posts is it now?

My take on this is that as Brixton said up thread those who disagree should say so clearly. All that's needed is 15 people and the OP is back and quite possibly running the board as a consequence.

I said people who've lost confidence in me should PM 'Brixton out' to QPR999 and QPR Matt. They will let me know if and when the number reaches 15 at which time I have promised to stop modding.

That has nothing to do with Swords future on here - which a mod panel (not including me) is currently considering as a very separate issue.

    ---------------------------------------

As for your reference to 'Dear Leader' (Kim Jong-dead), Beth's to 'man of steel', Stan's 'Uncle Josef' (both Stalin) and Swords' 'Baroness Thatcher' to add to Swords' 'Goebbels' insult during the Northolt era, none of these associations with nasty little tinpot dictators is appreciated by me I'm afraid.

Whether meant or not, confirms my between-the-lines reading (not to mention similes used throughout the OP on this thread) that my time may be up.

After all, such underlying perceptions come in stark contrast to my intended light touch, liberal, democratic and transparent approach to modding on here.

Kinda saw it coming tbh. People only have so much patience with one appointment, it's a fact of organisational life. No biggy - and as a pro, certainly no hard feelings whatsoever.

Hence my earlier decisions to appoint a couple of additional mods; stoke the fire up on this (very material) thread; and offer 15 or more 'good and true' users the opportunity to confirm my reading of the position, with a free, easy to register (confidential) hit.

As they say in my part of town, 'man cool, bring it, com!'.

I said it before and I say it again. You have my total support in this, Brixton. If either you quit and/or the OP comes back that's me gone for one 100%.

'Dear Leader' was meant in the nicest way possible, btw. Not an accusation of dictatorial behaviour at all.

    waoh woah woah Brixton.
My reference to Man of Steel (I had no intention or knowledge that is meant Stalin) was meant as a complement. And I stick by that there was no underlying/ between the lines secondary meaning.

I have on may many threads mentioned your "light touch" in moderating...I will not allow you to suggest there is any hidden depth in my complete and whole hearted support of you in this and other issues.

My comment was light-hearted banter in support of you, I will stick by that even now.
I will be apologising to you seperately in a PM...
But I would like to say here and now.
I am 100% behind Brixton... end of story.............it would be a sad sad day...if he wasn't.
I would also have to consider my position too....if I in anyway caused it.

Top line I knew already Imaz - but cheers for confirming. But don't leave just cos I'm nearing my sell-by date mate. With the board neatly ironed out for once, I have every confidence the new mods have the willingness, ability and tools to do us all proud.

As for the dictator stuff, whilst such associations suggest the writing's on the wall, coming from you, Beth, Stan and even Swords, all people I actually get on with, I don't take them personally at all.

    waoh woah woah Beth.

Wasn't sure if you did know that 'Stalin' wasn't Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili's name but rather a tag meaning 'man of steel'. Now know you didn't and meant the other thing. Sorry girl. Obviously feeling a bit of a flawed and fallible mod atm!

Next up'll be Stan, a particularly well read and rational guy and right darlin' to boot, who I think confused Imaz's Dear Leader with Uncle Joe!

**** me, we're ALL at it! Must be dem relegation blues...

Listen, if there is a lobby to get rid of me (and I couldn't possibly disagree with them cos it's their board too) that doesn't mean I outta here completely. Where else would I get to share joys and sorrows with so many quality Rs as on not606QPR?

It's all good - except relegation!

Look lets cut this cr@p, is there or isn't there a lobby to get rid of Brixton or not.
I do not feel "in the air" that there is any lobby...

Matt/999s is there any lobby? and what time frame are we talking about here..... If there are 15 votes against by when...2020!!!

I have said that I am 100% against such a move

Slightly crossed wires Brix. No confusion in my mind sir, Imaz's reference to the Dear Leader, put me in mind of Stalin, of course the Kim dynasty's spiritual leader. And there is a great totalitarian tactic of calling for unloseable votes to reinforce their positions. And flush out the opposition. But I don't think you are doing this, just a clumsy post.

Of course I don't think you are a dictator, quite the reverse, your strenuous efforts to mod this board in an open and transparent way cost you a lot of time and energy, for precious little return it strikes me. It just this thread has, as DT puts it, been daft. Swords' OP was an obvious wind up, an attempted joke. As usual with his over thought out elaborate efforts this fell completely flat (keep it spontaneous Swords!). Understandably, given the history, you took umbrage and effectively snookered him very eloquently. He admitted this and withdrew, for all I know permanently, rather graciously. Job done. Why make it a 'him or me'/ vote of confidence saga? If you've had enough of him just ban him permanently, I'm sure the rules would allow it. As it stands this thread will drag on for another couple of weeks until it is announced that no regular poster on this board has PM'd Matt and Nines voicing loss of confidence in you. I certainly won't be.

Sorry mate, you know you have my utmost respect, for doing this job when you have plenty of other things to do and growing this little community, but not with you on this one.

Do you have my confidence as a mod? Absolutely. Do I think you've handled this thread well? No.

i have trawled through this (bloody hard it was at times)my take on this is that i had a run in or two with swords over the years and didnt agree with a lot of his posts, iknow he went out of his way at times to be over opinionated, but i could take or leave him,if it comes down to a Brix v Swords there is only one winner, Brix is the main man here and long may he reign, i hope a way can be found for Brix & Swords to move forward with this, but alas i fear to much **** has hit the fan.

Agree, Brix should definitely not be goaded into stepping down over this nonsense.
