I'm off to the Oval tomorrow to watch Surrey v Hampshire. Should be a good game.

Have fun. Thankfully Graeme Smith hasn't hit his straps yet - though of course that will happen tomorrow now.

Our batting better be a whole lot better than today, because Surrey have a strong selection of bowlers. Tremlett, Meaker, Dernbach, Batty, Keedy; if all five play then that is one heck of an attack (not that I rate Dernbach though).

Not an attractive innings from Dawson, but much much needed.

I bloody hope we don't play Riazzudin tomorrow. <yikes> But we don't need to win tomorrow thankfully as we crushed Essex and beat Scotland (albeit rather unconvincingly). Hants should bat if they win the toss as well. They should have done that today.

I don't rate the guy at all (he's my cricket version of Harding!), but to be fair to the lad he's done fine in these two games so far. But then again, neither batting line-up was exactly great (unlike Smith, Davies, Solanki and Roy tomorrow) and nor did he bowl in the powerplays.

The change in the bowling/fielding regulations caught me out to begin with today. If you're not aware, the bowling powerplay no longer exists. Instead, the fielding team can now only have four men (rather than five) outside of the ring during non-powerplay overs.

Riazzudin will get hammered all around the park and I do not want to spill my pint all over my clothes!

The other thing is that, with Dimi not quite back from the IPL yet and Griffiths injured, we don't really have much option but to play Hamza. Tommo and Balcs are injury prone and traditionally four-day bowlers. Can't really play both of them in the same one-day team, especially just two days before a four day game.

Thankfully Dimi will be back for YB40 game number four - tomorrow is the last one he's missing for.

Do we need Hamza though? We have Wood, Briggs, Dawson, Ervine and one of Balcombe and Tomlinson. Even Vince could bowl if one of those got a pasting. And Carberry can bowl. I would rather Bates played than Hamza as he is a better keeper than Wheater. Wheater could stay in the side but play at slip or something.

It's certainly a possibility, but I think without Dimi (and to lesser extent Griff) the bowling is weak enough as it is. And crucially, Dawson hasn't yet hit the heights with his bowling that he did last season.

And these new regulations mean, I my opinion, that bowlers potentially getting a pasting will become more likely. Only having four outfielders to protect you against some of the better, more aggressive batsmen around isn't a lot.

Anyone else like Archer? Found myself getting into it a lot over Easter, thanks to housemates.

YES!!

Discovered it a few weeks ago and I've just finished the latest season. Best cartoon out there in my humble opinion, and probably best comedy TV programme in general. I just wish I had more people to talk to about it, because no one else seems to know what it is.

My housemate was watching it, I joined him and got hooked immediately. Quite possibly one of the most hilarious programs I've ever seen.

I'll bung this here as well, as it might get a few more people looking at it.

It's MOTD3's predictions for the end positions for 2013-14. Makes for interesting viewing and something to remember. The other interesting thing is that Alan Shearer is actually moderating entertaining when in the company of Pat Nevin and Colin Murray. :)

Wow Shearer thinks we'll finish...... well I'd better not ruin the surprise for those who haven't watched it.

Not just Shearer...we are the consensus [that place] finisher...on a panel of two, but still.

And obviously Shearer predicted (highlight to see) to be relegated. :)

Both did, and indeed their tables were near-identical. The only logical conclusion is that the presence of Colin Murray causes a sort of hive mind to form.

The fact that he has such otherworldly powers should be enough to convince BBC to rescind their replacement of him, right?
