I used to be over there, didn't post too much, and posted more in the history MB. Embarrassing I know. Can't remember what my e-mail address was. Fairly sure I came over here pre-Northolt which is uncommon! I kinda liked the restricted hours and over modding on the other board. Almost certain I'll be on my own there.
I was also a 606er. Pretty sure I moved over at Northolt's suggestion. Also kept the same username. The thing that sticks in my mind most is the oppressive house rules, having to wait an age to post again, and I had a fairly innocuous thread about not wanting Marlon King anywhere near Loftus Road deleted by the mods. Those were the days!
looks like northy brought quite a few of us over here. it's a pity he's not here anymore to claim the credit for it.
I joined bbc's 606 pretty much at it's end and joined here at the begining... There was someone on the old forum who callled themselves hoopsea....So i got the name idea and changed it round to seahoop...
I joined the old 606 more to view than post, as being overseas was the best way to keep up with the latest gossip, speculation, etc. Didn't like the curfew as meant that i was not able to post early mornings.....not that i did that often anyway, but was restrictive. Joined from one of Northy's posts in the early days, kept the same name even though now i work in Kazakhstan and not paradise that was Dubai. Like the banter and match day reports, although this season not so much Onwards and upwards for next season
I was there, same name. It was often ruined by the continual rubbish from 'boy'. Ring any bells? Always liked Sandyl's imput because she actually went to matches. A real football loving lady like our Beth.
The one good thing that the restricted hours did was to enforce a cooling off period, in case things got too heated. As for over-modding, IMO they went from one extreme to the other (either completely absent or competely dictatorial) with none of the hands-off middle ground that we get from Brix and his team. And don't forget, they were modding purely from a BBC-driven standpoint on making sure nothing was posted on a BBC system that might leave the Corporation legally liable for slander / libel / whatever - it seemed that peace and harmony on a properly focused board was very low down on their agenda.
Yeah both Sandyl and Toboboly went over to VitalQPR. I tried it there but very sterile with no banter from other clubs
I only used to browse the BBC site never actually registered on it. Initially on this site I started to read the posts, but then Inky asked his question about other Irish based R's and I thought to myself "lets do it" so I registered and the rest is history as they say. Not a prolific poster but generally have a read a few times a day to see what is happening...Mrs TR thinks I spend too much time on here so am trying to ween myself off it a little...it can become addictive this forum....
Should also add that the lads that I've meet through this forum are top class.....here's to the next meet up
I was on the BBC site, although can't for the life of me remember my moniker. It wasn't A Boy in the Bush though, I know that much!! I hardly ever posted, like on here, but did/do read the posts most days.
I was on the BBC 606 site with the same name I think, for it's last 6 months or year maybe, before coming on here Sep 2011, some time after 606 closed I think. Don't think I posted much, but can't remember too much of it now, don't remember any big differences.
I read BBC606 for years but never bothered to make an account. My main memories are of ABITB generally trolling the rest of the users. Started reading this about a year and a half ago and only made an account last year. Even now I hardly post, I just sit here watching...
I Was a member of the old BBC 606 and remember old Northy in glowing terms, i still have my old moniker, the old sight had some great characters on it and there was less aggressive tendencies, still had good banter, i liked the old 606 but you can't dwell in the past onwards & upwards UUURRRSSS
Yep.I was on the old 606, same name. Wasnt ABITB named by someone at one stage? I strongly suspect he's on here in some guise albeit a bit wiser. He couldn't resist.
