This. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

That's it for me. For example, when Col or Flyer are telling someone to **** off in the wake of yet another shambles, it's none of this. It's honest, raw emotion and passion from people who obviously care. What I see on here too many times is a calculated attempt to provoke. Not provoke debate, not to share something, a point of view, with others. Just a deliberate attempt to hurt, cause outrage and thereby, with the help of sock puppets, make the perpetrator centre of attention.

I was more a reader than a poster on the BBC site. I posted very, very occasionally. Can't remember the name I used though.

What I liked about the BBC site was the interaction and views from fans of other clubs. The day after a match, opposition fans would discuss what they thought of the QPR side and the game and I found their opinions interesting. There was no confrontation or name calling due to the heavy moderation. I think I came here fairly soon after the BBC site closed down. I thought the closure was like the end of the world as I liked reading the site so much. This site is much better in that the moderation is not so heavy and people here in general are fantastic.

spot on finglas, I too was gutted when the bbc pulled 606, found this place early on as a replacement and sat back and hoped for the migration that did eventuate, thanks to northy. And the easy interaction with other teams fans was a big part of 606 for me also.

I joined in March '11 following Northy's prompting.
I liked the bbc site and it took me quite a while to get used to this one, which looked very complicated and "fussy" in comparison.
The downside of this site are the one or two attention seeking idiots who just want to wind everyone up. Having said that, I really like it here and spend far too much time on the site.

I was also on the old BBC 606 site and remember many of the good chats and wind ups (as with others ABITB was a pain in the arse APITA - but amusing at times). There were more contributors from other teams. It a lot of childish spats too. Came over here after Northy's continued 'selling'. Took quite a while to he used to it to be honest - but we have, mostly, a good group now - despite the occasional silly moments from some! Enjoy the odd OT thread/banter as well.

I stumbled across the BBC site by accident via a link from their football page. I'd never considered being part of a forum, or maybe just didn't realise they were out there. It was a revelation and I started posting occasionally under the same name - people reckon I look like woody harrelson - I do to be fair, bald, big nose, big chin, massive knob (both senses). The BBC site shut down a month or two after that and I moved in over here in diamond formation with North on point. Like nines said, this place offers a whole new dimension to supporting our club. You learn a lot from taking in all the thoughts and opinions and it's a great source of info. Some great characters on here, hard to believe you are ordinary men and women (glad that's pluralised now). The other great thing is kiwis joke thread - never been a good joke teller but my dads a legend - cant tell you how many I've copied and pasted and texted to him - he loves it.

Not606 QPR - it'll wrap an arm round you, make you laugh, make you cry and sturdify your personal relationships.

Joined BBC 606 shortly before it closed - then came over to this one - haven't regretted it. It was a great relief to be free of some of the risk-averse moderating shackles of the BBC apparatus

I joined the BBC 606 site in the two months before its closure. It was my first real forum experience and funnily enough got me hooked and I enjoy reading some of the comments from R's fans out there and from across the world.

I do however, prefer the Not606 site and thoroughly enjoy some of the banter, just wish that some would be less abusive on occasion. I recently met up with a friend after 18 years who moved to Montreal, Canada and introduced him to the Not606 forum. They don't get much news about the R's in Canada, its usually the Man U, Liverpool & Chelsea updates they receive regularly.

Came over in Early Feb 2011 in response to one of Northies threads.

I think i did use the same name...

My first thread on here was on the 11th Feb and tells you everything you need to know about the old 606

"TITLE - Marlon King is a convicted criminal!

Hi all, I'm just seeing if Not 606 is any less paranoid than the actual 606, the title of this thread would see me shot at dawn on the actual 606... "

Happy days - Although I see Marlon hasn't changed much, arrested again....

I was never on there as I hate the BBC. I went for a new media job with QPR (Good god you have no idea how bad they are!). I joined here as part of research but it became addictive and was full of great characters. It has grown into a great entertainment comic for me. I still hope to meet up with the crowd on here. I would also like to thank all the great PM and fan mail I have received ..

Even if most of you don't know anything about football you area great bunch even Cerny who became Gollom

I joined 606 on the first day Briatori took over as it seemed to me we finally had a lot to talk about. And I came across to here at Northolt's instigation to make sure the nice group we had formed stayed together. Then and now, there are plenty of attention seekers who try to spoil things and plenty of different levels of chat to be had from the inane to the intellectual. I can't understand people who can't just ignore the idiots and contribute at the level they feel comfortable with.

Agree to a point, mate - however when it gets to the stage when every thread that looks like it's going somewhere ends up getting hijacked by some twonk only out for a reaction, you do get a bit pissed off... It's easier to deal with it here though, because the Mods are board members rather than paid lackeys of the Broadcast Establishment.

I must admit this is an excellent forum. I go on a couple of others (WATRBs and Loft for Words) and enjoy them for other reasons but this one has a great variety of characters and opinions and threads like the Word Association one which just run and run.
