Bloody hell, I remember that! Bloomin hilarious! <ok>

Yes i was part of the Northy drive to come over to here was Flanman on 606 as well thought about changing but wanted to keep my identity. The BBC site had a lot more interaction with other fans but over moderated remember several of my posts were not allowed usually a silly reason.

Loved ABITB and the several pseudo names he went under Camp Freddy Etc.. I'm sure I knew who ABITB was/is but never approached him to ask, i will one day.

Yes Camp Freddy owned a newsagents and he used to tell us that Warnock had popped in that morning for a copy of the Guardian and a Caramac and said we were signing Jermaine Defoe on no particular Thursday...

Nice responses. Appreciate that.

I was on there for about 6 months or so before North's initial dig-up call in March. Reason I'd turned to the net and 606 was the excitement of suddenly seeing the Rs top of the league! Needed to wax lyrical with fellow Rs.

Hated this place at first (all the tumbleweed, point scoring etc.) but soon got used to it.

There were good aspects of the BBC site, one of which was your moniker was your identity, there were no avatars and signatures and pictures so technical prowess did not feature, your written contributions were the whole story. I liked that. I also liked the format, very simple and kind of democratic. I had forgotten about the curfew of course, but it kind of suited me as I generally don't post late.

Was certainly a "BBC type" for live scores, match reports, league tables etc, so 606 was a natural.

Was part of that first wave.

Same moniker, no secrets to hide.

Can't really recall much of those 606 days now.

Definitely the "not 606" site. Just QPR though - I don't wander over onto other boards as some here seem to do.

I never posted on the old 606 but I did follow Northy here. Being the naturally shy bloke that I am it was a while before I made my first post but I have s been mapleranger since joining here. And my first response was from Northy welcoming me

Yes I think it was. Do you think abitb is a poster on here?

He is. His one mistake, if you can call it that, in those days, was to be too obvious about his sock puppets. He's learned. Look for attention-whoring posters who deliberately provoke negative emotions and offend at every turn. Nothing is off-limits, no lengths too far, in the quest to be centre of attention and VPN's are cheap.

<ok>

I was there! Not a clue what my moniker was.

I do remember this guy though..

"Wooo.. <ghost><ghost> "

You'll need to narrow it down a bit more, mate!

I was a little slower moving over from 606, but posted under the same name.

The biggest problems with that site were the 2 minutes you had to wait between posts, the lack of response from the moderators, and the endless drivel posted by ABITB and his many, many aliases. I walked away several times because every single thread was hijacked eventually.

I was on the old bbc 606 board. I can't remember what my old moniker was though. How do you find out and how do you get the old pages up? When I have tried to look it just has blank pages. If I can see some old posts on there I might recognise myself.

I joined here in March 2011 but remained on the old 606 until it closed. It was my first experience of a message board and I was amazed at the amount of info our fans had access to. Especially that Northolt bloke. It opened up a whole new dimension to following the Rs for me. It must of been a godsend to our overseas fans. It's astounding as to how much we were kept in the dark about the goings on at Loftus Rd until these forums existed.

When I look back on the old 606 it seemed quite old fashioned and sterile. What with the 11pm curfew and words like Scunthorpe getting blanked out. It was quite frightfully quaint in many ways.
