It's a farce is what it is. Giroud didn't deserve to be sent off, and has his ban upheld, while Nasri and Sturridge did deserve to be sent off and are being let off with nothing. If the FA are going to decide they're entitled to take retrospective action against Suarez, then they have to take retrospective action against other misdemeanours as well.

Any righteous comments to make about this one DL?

The same classy fans who will no doubt harangue Mark Clattenburg at the weekend for absolutely no reason.

Chelsea fans abused Avram Grant when we beat them in the Carling Cup final and they hiss at us every year. Hardly a surprise, is it?

This has been the policy since Adam was a lad surely. Add in the fact that most quasi-legal systems make appeals much easier than double jeopardy punishments and you get the outcome that only a case as obvious as the Suarez one is likely to see post game action

I don't think that there was any disagreement over the Nasri foul though, PS.
Really blatant and the ref missed it completely. No idea why he hasn't been charged.

Charging him would reverse FA policy regarding us...

It's bollocks! And the F.A. Needs to get it's head out of it's arse. In RFU there is Citing Commitee which can take retrospective action, even if the referee was deemed to have dealt with the offence at the time. It's about time something similar was introduced to football.

  10. Let's hope they throw the book at him (again).

He's clearly the sort of player who is never going to learn, so they might just as well go the whole hog with him. I would (as a neutral).

It's a real shame that it's been monsoon season in Munich recently.
It's really affected the surface tonight, hasn't it? <whistle>

Gomez makes it 2-0. More than a hint of an offside about it. Barca still yet to turn up.

I'm beginning to think the FA are worth sweet FA!
The game is going to the dogs. The players are getting up to so many dangerous things that are not seriously punished, yet the referees are collecting names like I used to collect train numbers as a kid!

4-0. Well done Bayern, Barca have got a Hell of a lot of sorting out to do if they're going to get themselves into the final. Bayern have been excellent though.

I'm waiting for a Chelsea fan to come here and and try to give some credit to Chelsea in contributing to Barca's defeat tonight.

No, you see that's where you are wrong. Bayern are a better team than Barcelona. The sense of entitlement and expectation of Barca getting to the final is why so many are surprised. Bayern haven't "been" excellent. They ARE excellent and a superior team to Barca in all aspects. Today was no fluke, this has been on the cards for ages.

Ohh read the script DL...your supposed to bang on about how Chelsea started the demise of this Barca team by scraping past them in last year's final.

Chelsea's win over them was just one nail, the first nail was drilled in when they lost their best CB of the last decade to serious injuries and decided to not replace him and instead use midfielders and full backs to cover + sign the likes of Sanchez and Fabregas who were nowhere near the level that they had. We're seeing it now with City.

Final nail was drilled in tonight.

People hasten to forget in 2009 Hiddink found them out, as did Mourinho the following year and year after. In 2 of those years they only progressed thanks to the refs.
