He is under contract until 2017 but that, along with Newcastle's reluctance to sell, will not put off Milan, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Serie A side are also keen on Queens Park Rangers' No 1 Julio Cesar but his £70,000-a-week wages are a major stumbling block.

Krul is also eight years younger and is being lined up to replace current first choice stalwart Christian Abbiati

My initial reaction is a big NO! However, dislocated shoulders can be a bugger for goalkeepers so I'd def think about it. Forster is a cracking goalie, but he's not the finished article yet. His positioning is still suspect. It doesn't get shown up often in Scotland, but did get exposed in Europe. Not knocking the lad - he's class. But we'd have swapped a goalkeeper with far more experience for a developing one. So with that on board I'd say no and Ashley would probably say yes.

£20 million and you have to have a ponder about it. £12million warrants a polite No. Anything less warrants a Get Stuffed.

He is becoming a bit injury prone. If we could get Forster for 6m, then I'd say it would be a decent bit of business.

DT was saying that it can take up to a year for a sportsman to recover from a dislocation. I thought they just popped it in and "hey presto", it's fine again, but apparently it can lead to an ever present weakness once a shoulder's dislocated once.

Personally, I'd realistically rate Krul at £10 million. So with the way the club does business, 5 or 10 million more would be about right.

What amazes me is we could raise like £75 million by selling off about 4 players, all of whom having had terrible or injury prone seasons... Cabaye £20 million, Tiote £15 million, Ben Arfa £20 million, Krul £20 million with loose estimates. Personally, if Ashley pushed the button on these moves, I wouldn't be too upset. Yeah, we'd lose players who will probably go on to look world class somewhere else, like they looked in their first few seasons, but it'd give Carr a chance to go out and build another new team, with the last one built on the Andy Carroll sale! But I accept most will probably think that is crackers <laugh>

Wud ya give me a chance? Gimme 30 million quid and I'll build a top notch team for ya. <ok>

I hadn't realised a dislocated shoulder was that much of a problem.

If it is, then I think all of the valuations are optimistic. £20m for cabaye would be quite a lot. Ben arfa would be £20m if he didn't get injuted so much, but he does. Tiote also gets injured and simply doesn't play very well lately. Krul was worth £20m this time last week.

As with the arguments/healthy discussions about Pardew I'm probably in the minority here, however I'd sell Krul even if he wasn't injured. As Gandalf has indicated with profound amounts of wizardorial accumen, disclocated shoulders for keepers can be a real challenge given the nature of their job, this is therefore probably a strong reason for letting him go.

Whilst we can't argue he's a good shot stopper I think his overall distribution, especially kicking, either from dead ball situations or clearing his lines is poor. I'd rather have a keeper who is good in all the facets of keeping in the modern game rather than one who excells in the shot stopping department and is weak in the other areas. If someone came in with a 10-12m bid I'd be inclined to accept it.

If Krul does go,

now manu are looking at stoke goalie, what about lindegaard?
from what i seen of him, he looks quality!
prob get for about 6 million!

£30 million then maybe consider it. The last thing we need though is to lose him.

Work out how many points he's saved us and how much that's been worth in payments of various kinds and £12m would be peanuts.

I'd keep him at all costs.

Krul has dislocated his shoulder before... when he was on loan at Falkirk... 2008/09 I think.

We paid less than £200,000 for him after the tribunal.

£12,000,000?

I think Mike Ashley would be snapping their hand off!

Call it £18,000,000 *spits in hand, offers it*.

I'd struggle to think of anyone better we could get who a) we could afford, b) would reasonably come to us, and c) wouldn't be a step down.

I won't pretend to know anything about Kenneth Vermeer, or even heard of him, so I couldn't argue his case. Stekelenburg, Ron-Robert Zieler, Steve Mandanda maybe?
