If you are going to try and hector people then at least get your spelling correct - so I fixed it for you. Thatcher will also be be held in contempt by at least as many people.

She was a thundercunt, an abhorent, self centred, self absorbed, over promoted, vile human being.

If you don't agree then **** off & leave us to it.

    Hitler was a great leader...

Doesn't mean he made good choices or did the right thing.

Are we talking about Thatcher or Blair here? Because him and brown have done worse for this country than anyone. Look at our debt now? Look at the power we have in Europe? Look at the armed forces? Crime? community? We lost that under labour! Labour closed our local hospital and now blame the Tories. Look at the banking under labour or GDP? Look at our world ranking when Thatcher was in power compared with what it was after 13 years of labour? Are the schools any better than they were in 1980? No because labour ruined them as well. As for the coal mines, things change and sadly they were closed but to think it was not going to happen under a labour government is wrong. Saying that though with Scargill at the helm he would have finished of our country.
As I said look at the whole picture not just the closure of the mines. Think of how Europe has changed for the better. No more 'cold war' and communist countries oppressing it's people like it did before. That was thanks to her and Ronald.

I see your rep has improved today! <laugh>

As I said ELLERS, that is your opinion and fair enough to stick with it, but the arugments are just going to continue on here as the POV is just too different. <ok>

I grew up in Liverpool in the 80's with unemployment at nearly 50% so I'm hardly jumping on the bandwagon...lazy ****ing scousers I hear you mutter...well that doesn't compute does it....when there are jobs available (as there are now) unemployment is low. The fact that something like 80% of those jobs for anyone under 25 are minimum wage service sector jobs is shocking but still it shows a willingness to work wouldn't you say?

Many of the towns and cities labelled "workshy" by Maggie/Murdochs propoganda machine were traditionally areas of heavy industry, with low unemployment where folk did nothing BUT work their entire lives.

She might go down as a "great leader" in the Home Counties but in most other areas of the country she'll be remembered just how she should be <ok>

Under Thatcher's tenure unemployment went from one to 5 million...Many that were in work were earning less than a pound an hour, and working 90 hours plus a week to make ends meet...She used the police, army and the controlled press to put down opposition and to achieve her goals..I've listened to a lot od drivel this week about Paolo Di Canio's past links to fascism, but in my opinion Thatcher was the nearest thing I have seen to a fascist leader, and the South of England kept her in power for over a decade..

Thanks I hate the spell check. Went to school under a labour government and spent more lessons listening to some CND freak and his Lefty ways than concentrating on the English classes but the it was the 70's. That was pre Thatcher.

Thatcher's crimes have **** all to do with Blair, they are her own.

She decimated British manufacturing in order to crush the Unions, there was no great mater plan, it was vindictive & summed up her entire character.

She made sure her husband lined his pockets when the great sell off was in full swing........

The cold war ending had **** all to do with her or that moron Reagan, that's pure revisionist ****e.

Blair and Brown were self confessed ****ing Thatcherites <doh> thatcherism didn't stop once Maggie left power. New Labour was Old Tory....so you're right about Labour...but they were carrying on exactly the same policies as Maggie. I think you've proved my argument for me there lad.

No wonder you stopped studying politics as it's a philosophy that is well beyond you given the quality of your political analysis. I really hope you didn't switch to history as your timelines are wrong as well.

You really do sound like a a latter-day yuppie who is still to pass puberty.

    You see what I mean!
Why not make it 100Million unemployed!!!
Think you will find the highest it reached was 3.3M in 1984, so how you come up with 5 Million is beyond me, but lets not ruin a good post even if it is crap <doh>

Everything I said there was correct, so if you care to challenge me on it do so, otherwise wind your soft Southern neck in.
