'arry losing his rag with the BBC interviewer this morning on the box.Reckons they don't need six more wins. They certainly need five from seven though, maybe a draw too to give them 39 points.Slipped to 1/10 on in the odds. It's one from seven above them now.

Some more big games this weekend and they don't come bigger than Sunday's gane at Loftus Road.

QPRv Wigan qualifies for the six pointer title in spades. And it's not just because both are at the bottom, this really is the last realistic chance for 'arry to keep survival hopes alive.Anything less than a home win and it's curtains for THe Hoops.Conversely a win against Wigan would put them just four points behind and revive talk of them staying up.

Reading v Southampton It's odd how these things work out.Adkins goes to Reading and the very next week Saints come to town.As for Rangers Reading need a win to retain any hope of survival.Pressure will be off Adkins as he has clearly been brought in with an eye on 2013/4 in The Championship.A loss for Saints would see them potentially on the fringe of the fight again.

Chelsea v Sunderland It's hard to see anything other than a home win in this Racists v Fascists contest.Let's just hope that in a few weeks time we don't see PDC hanging by his feet from a Wearside lamp post.If other results don't go their way Sunderland could end the weekend in the relegation spots.

Stoke v Villa The Potter's form is dire and their tumble towards the bottom has been inexorable. They need to arrest this fall now, although a draw would probably do either of them neither will be doing somersaults if that is the result here.

Newcastle v Fulham Again a point would probably do to edge the Geordies awat from the precipice. All thoughts will be on next weekend's derby game where they may have the opportunity to put the jackboot into their Goose-stepping neighbours.

Norwich v Swansea. A win for us would more or less guarantee another year in The Premiership but given the other fixtures a draw would probably do.The Swans are on a losing streak,we can't score, looks nil-nil ish to me.

I am surprised how the pundits and the bookies keep ignoring Newcastle's chances of relegation, they have form for it and the are not "too good" to go down as they have demonstrated before.

Sure they have good players but they are in a worse position than us and with their Europa league fixtures they are in danger of burning out towards the end of the season as the exra fixtures take their toll.

A loss or a draw to Fulham a home game in the Europa league with Benfica and then a derby with a resurgent Sunderland under a fiery new manager. Not easy fixtures if you ask me. If they were to loose to Sunderland and draw or loose with Fulham then they will be in deep trouble with away games against West Brom, West Ham and QPR.

Also their home fixtures look tricky with Liverpool, Arsenal and Sunderland on the horizon.

I think that if Reading or QPR lose then they are pretty much toast as not only is it no points for them but also three points for a relegation rival.

Were Villa to slip up that would effectively keep Stoke up and they will be deeper in trouble as either Wigan or QPR will have another three points or one each.

Sunderland will almost certainly lose and with a lot of the bottom clubs playing each other could be dragged into trouble. BTW love the Racists v Facists tag from Cryuff. Very droll.

We could do with something as at least some of those below us must get some points over the weekend. Hope the Swans poor form combined with our hex on them produce th right result.

eyes on other rivals this weekend. a win for QPR and reading would help us, and both are must wins for those respective teams. also stoke to not lose to Villa and chelsea not lose to sunderland (think there could be some 'bounce' with PDC and chelsea having to play 4 games in a week).
IF most of these results happen and we end up getting a point tomorrow, it may not be all doom and gloom for us.

I think we will win tomorrow and it will be a good game but I think it won't be enough for some people. If we were on 37 points with 6 games to go people would still be worried.

There was hardly any signs of worry when the gap to the bottom three was 8 points. Now it's shrunk to 4 with precious little sign of that being a 'blip' on our part, the natives are getting understandably restless - well, this one is, anyway :emoticon-0107-sweat

There are plenty of people charging up for failure. Wanton us to lose to be proved that they were right all along.

We need to give everything tomorrow. Get behind the team as much as we can, but I think a big section of the crowd are so "worried" they just won't bother.

The Swansea fans, even though they sent a lot of tickets back, wil be loud and proud. I mean, their welsh, they love singing.

Just hope the crowd and team can rise to occasion together.

Would never questions others support in a ground. We are all individuals and do things in different ways.

However if you only prepare to fail you can't expect victory to just appear.

Goes to prove how crucial the decisions the officials make during a game can be. If we had been given the penalty we should have been given against Sunderland we would have won 2-1 and be on 36 points instead of 34 and in 12th instead of 14th.

And if holty had scored against Southampton we'd be even higher. Roll of the dice I'm afraid. This league is unkind.

Lawro has predicted us to win 2-1 which means bad news. Even though I want City to win, with their current goalscoring record in the league since the beginning of the year (5 goals) I am predicting a 2-0 win for Swansea, with Michu scoring at least one of them. I don't get to go to Carrow Road often but every game I've been to this season has ended 0-0. Does Hughton believe in scoring??

You know you are in the sh*t when you endlessly worry about other results going the right way. Beat Swansea and we only then need to beat Reading to reach the magic 40.

I know I keep saying this but Wigan,Sunderand and Villa won't reach 40 points. My guess is that one of them will (My choice would be Villa) One will make 38 and the other 36.QPR and Reading won't reach those dizzy heights,32-35 possibly.I still reckon 37 will bring survival.

I'd imagine you're pretty spot on with those predictions. But wouldn't it be lovely to get 6 points ASAP, so we can go into the last few games with no fear. Maybe even the 'luxury' of giving Fox, Butterfield, etc a run out to see if CH wants to retain them in the squad for next year. Rather than this knife edge - especially with having to go to the Etihad on the final day <yikes>

yep, CT looks about right. i just hope we get to 39/40 asap so we are not sweating it out bigtime. we're on a poor run, the good thing is we are not in the bottom 3 and there are 6 teams below us. if the winless run continues and we were to drop into it say with 2 or 3 games left, we're in big big trouble.

I see ourselves [Saints] losing at reading tomorrow as they have to win, so it will be an all or nothing game for them. But as we have West Ham and Stoke at home I am not too worried yet!
