i love the newkie fans optimism. lose this weekend at home and thedy could be relegated. they should really worry about more than carroll.

I've copied and pasted the below from the BBC:

"Blackpool winger Thomas Ince could be worth as much as £25m in the current market, according to his father Paul.

The 21-year-old was a January target for both Liverpool and Reading.

And Seasiders manager Ince said Manchester United's signing of Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha should be a benchmark for his son's valuation.

"If you're talking £15m for Zaha, Thomas has got to be £25m. If you compare the two, Thomas should cost more," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

Youngster Ince, who began his career at Liverpool and was strongly linked with a move back to Anfield earlier this season, collected the Young Player of the Year prize at the Football League awards last month.

Ince has scored 18 goals in the Championship in 2012-13. Only Glenn Murray, Charlie Austin, Jordan Rhodes and Matej Vydra have found the net on more occasions in the division this term.

Wide man Zaha has been one of the star performers in the second tier this season and was rewarded for his excellent form with a first full cap for England against Sweden in November.

Blackpool boss Ince, who has said he does not want to sell his star player, continued: "Zaha is a fantastic player, don't get me wrong. Zaha's a stronger runner and does a lot of tricks, whereas Thomas is more direct, he makes things happen and he scores goals.

"You've got a kid playing in the Championship who has scored 18 goals. When you look at the leading scorers, they're all strikers, and he's there amongst them.

"Potentially, I think he can reach that value. If Palace want £15m for Zaha who has scored six goals, it makes you wonder what price he's going to be.

"You're not going to get it because he's not proven in the Premier League, but if United are paying £15m for Zaha, on the stats you'd have to say Thomas is worth a lot more than that. That's my opinion."

Meanwhile, striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher is nearing a return to first-team action after recovering from a torn hamstring and on-loan forward Marko Futacs has gone back to parent club Leicester City."

Now, this is is Dad saying this and (as the site shows), Ince jnrs Stats are better than Zahas, doesnt really make him a better player imo.

If we will be in for him again in summer, it looks like Blackpool are going to try to absolutley fleece us.

I dont think hes worth even £10m. I hope this puts us off and some idiot does pay this kind of money for him, and we can take our 30%

Andy is pretty much worthless now.
You guys don't want him, West Ham on't want him.
I'd say £10 plus AC for Ben Arfa as a minimum.
Ashley has openly said that bidding starts at £25m.
Hahaha, just because Comolli was a moron when it came to negotiations doesn't mean Ayre is just as bad. We'll tell Cashly to **** right off at that valuation. 25mill for a player who never plays? Get real. You'd be lucky to get 12mill for him. Undoubted quality, but never gets the chance to show it. I agree we shot ourselves in the foot regarding Carroll, but I'd have him back and use him personally if we can't sell for 15mill+. He still has talent.

I kind of agree that if Zaha is worth £15m then Ince must be worth similar (£25m is crazy).

Don't get the Zaha hype myself.
The vast majority of the comments for that article all use Henderson as an example of overpriced British players - but strangely enough never Phil 'Bobby Moore' Jones. Hendo's had a great season and imo is comfortably worth the 16mill paid for him given that he keeps on improving and will only get better. Do any supposed football fans actually watch football?

I do Spearo, and I've never doubted that he would come good. The goal he scored against Villa showed maturity, great nerve and skill <ok>

If Inces son is worth £25 mill my son is worth £100 mill... because he is only 9 and can only improve.

Sure Tom is probably better at football... but my son is good with Lego...

The best attributes Henderson always had was his work rate and his willingness to get the ball. He never hid away last season and always put himself up for criticism/praise, that has to be admired. Add to that his improvement with the ball and his physical prowess I'm more than happy to have him at the club. £16m for a player who will be in or about the edges of our starting XI for 10 years is money well spent. He'll pick up 30 odd England caps and will always give his all. Solid player.

Maybe we should be poaching the Porto scouts... not their players!

<laugh> True, but they do have the more lenient work permits that allow the south americans easy entry and then they get sold off for millions.

Since joining Newcastle in 2010 (includes his loan spell) Ben Arfa's played a grand total of 43 games! In those three seasons he has mustered a massive nine goals. £17m you say? BARGAIN!

If Carroll is involved it surely won't be Carroll plus 17 mil? We already had the pants pulled down once!

We want £17m for Carroll.

A straight swap would value HBA at the same.

Do I think either are worth it? No!

Who would I rather have? Carroll.

Do I think Carroll is a better player? No.

Why would I rather have Carroll? Because he is able to put a pair of boots on for a few games or more.

It is a gamble, but if it works, just have a look at RVP and BA when they finally got healthy. I think I would rather have HBA and get Gameiro in to be honest.
