LIVERPOOL are plotting a raid for Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez.

The Anfield side have added the forward to a list of players they are keeping tabs on.

Rodriguez, 23, has flourished at St Mary’s under new boss Mauricio Pochettino and the Reds have taken note.

He has scored in his last two games, one a stunning solo effort in Southampton’s 3-1 win over Liverpool last month.

Rodriguez fits the profile of young players with potential that Liverpool’s owners and boss Brendan Rodgers want to bring to Anfield.

But they would face a huge battle to prise him away from the Saints.

Rodriguez only joined them from home-town club Burnley last summer, on a four-year contract, for a then club record £7m.

Havin a bubble....

I'd be amazed if we went in for Ben Arfa...you'd like to think we've learned from a, dealing with Newcastle and b, buying faulty goods. Like all of their signings, injury prone and inconsistant. When you get a string of luck, you get what happened last season. When the luck is normalised, you get what happens this season. And to think they gave the miracle worker Pardew an 8 year contract as well as blowing hot air up Carr's arse for signing players everyone had heard of but didn't want to touch...

Screw dealing with Newcastle. Keep Mandy or sell to Wham.

We've bought two players of them in recent years. One was a absolutely shocking deal and the other was a bargain, I'll let posters figure out which one is which.

Matth posted this last night, I merged it with the transfer thread

Not the worst player we've been linked with but I do think we can do better.

He's a clever, creative player with good acceleration but his injuries do worry me.

I'm guessing Rodgers just wants to get rid of Carroll and Newcastle are interested but we know that they won't stump up £17m for hmi so we'll do a cash plus player deal.

A journalist/connection with the Liverpool Echo said that Eriksen is our number 1 target for this summer but interestingly he didn't hear anything on Ben Arfa.

EDIT - I hope we don't deal with Newcastle anymore!!

Andy is pretty much worthless now.
You guys don't want him, West Ham on't want him.
I'd say £10 plus AC for Ben Arfa as a minimum.
Ashley has openly said that bidding starts at £25m.

LFC target, Toby Alderweirald has said that we wants to play in England. The fee sought is €9m. The players preference is LFC but will consider all options open.

Reporting in De Telegraaf.

I don't want HBA for £1.75 and a packet of pork scratchings, never mind £17m!

He's a very good player but what the point when he's always injured <doh>
