Anybody know about this guy, and why would he be so daft?

Sunderland are confident winning the race for Le Havre midfielder El-Hadji Ba.

The Journal says Sunderland watched long-term target Ba in action for France’s under-20 side against Denmark in midweek.

He started the game, which ended in a 3-2 win for France, and was also watched by Newcastle chief scout Graham Carr and representatives from Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.

But Ba, who Sunderland were first offered last summer, is understood to favour a move to Wearside if something can be negotiated.

Why would he ever favour a move to Wearside?
It sounds like we are having our name bandied around to try to force through a deal with the mackems.
I mean come on... if he wasn't good enough for the Mackems in the summer.......

Graham Carr was watching France under 20's? Oh my, shock horror, it MUST be for this guy. Media just throwing our name in there to make it look like there's competition for him imo.
I'd be amazed if there was any French international game we've not had a scout at for the past 3 or 4 years. <laugh>

Seems West Ham have got Bony to sign in the summer according to the Sunday Mirror

this will be a bit of smoke an mirrors as his agent tries to secure a bigger payday.
The 'New Drogba' will have his sights on a much more attractive club surely?
What next... Messi to Wigan?

When have we ever lost out to them on a player its a non starter

After being linked with Ibrahim Ba in the late 90's, signing Demba Ba, linking us with El-Hadji Ba, do we have a thing about the name?
