I still reckon we're going to break our transfer record (or at least try to), judging by bruce's statement that he wants a 20 goal striker to replace bent.
Maybe we might see a big name striker, only time will tell.
Here's what he said.
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce admits finding another proven goalscorer will be his priority this summer.
The Black Cats started the 2010/11 campaign with a 20-goal-a-season marksman on their books in the form of Darren Bent.
They end the season without the services of the England international, though, after offloading him to Aston Villa during the January transfer window.
Indentifying and snapping up players with a knack of finding the target is no easy task, but Bruce concedes that he has to plug that gap if Sunderland are to move forward in the future.
"There you go - [Manchester United boss] Sir Alex Ferguson has just won the league, he's in the Champions League final and he wants three players to add to the quality of it.
Incredible
"Of course, it's going to be difficult. Aston Villa would have been in a hell of a state without Darren Bent. Let's be honest - they came and bought our best player.
"We have to look and scour. That's my job - to try to find another one if we can.
"Darren Bent did fantastically well here and scored a lot of goals. We have to go and find a replacement for him. We have to go and get a proven striker."
