As expected really, hdm probably don't even know anything, just speculating something that is pretty clear anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing us buy Guzan, as long as it was for a small price. He's a decent keeper.

He's very much out of favour there, he's not been able to even get back on the bench since returning there (unless he's injured?). Villa apparently have offered friedel a new contract, too.

I'd like to see Guzan back, he is a good keeper and we certainly need a good keeper

his work permit expires soon i believe and the villa fans doubt it can be renewed due to his lack of international appearances. also most of us thought that guzan was the least impressive of the keepers we've had this season, no way as confident as mannone between the sticks and confidence like that helps the whole team.

Personally thought he was pretty crap, decent shot stopper but can't make decisions and always looked very shakey and unconvincing.
I never felt comfortable when he was in goal like I did with Mannone.

Will be a great signing for us if we get him, so long as the scapegoaters don't go after him and wreck his confidence.

I've always liked the guy and think he would be a good signing, for a reasonable price.

DaredToDream, whilst I agree with you to a certain extent about him looking shakey - almost uncomfortable - at times, I genuinely believe that a permanent move to ourselves, and some regular first team football, would bring out the top class keeper I know is in him.

I though he seemed more assured and consistent than Mannone. Mannone definitely had more flair, better reflexes and all that acrobaticness (is that a word) about him, but Guzan always seemed a steady performer where you know what you're gonna get from him and rarely ****ed up. He seemed to struggle in 1 on 1 situations though IMO they were his weakest point, got beaten at his near post a couple of times a bit too easily too.

Think if Mannone had been fit the full season then it would be a shoe in. Am sure that his injuries are playing a part in the equation. The last thing this club needs these days is a player that continues to be available. For the record I would have Mannone in front of Guzan as well however Guzan is a decent keeper.

Every keeper has a weak a point, Guzan has one or two faults you could pick him up on but i would be happy to see him come here on a permanent basis. I would prefer Mannone but i think we could do a lot worse than Guzan.

Ricardo is a legend but he's also a bit nuts, I wouldn't complain if we got him though!

I'd rather weale to be honest, and he's a bit calamitous at times.

If we end up with guzan and, say, eilhoff I'd be happy enough.

tbh I'd not looked him up - just saw the article and thought I'd throw it in.....

Guzan is ok with me. Mannone better, but he seems injury-prone. (Maybe a loan?).
