Is Bruce going to move us to the next level... I challenge anyone who is on the Bruce In brigade to answer in a positive manner with reasoned arguments and without looking like a total pleb.

If we're happy in the bottom half and perhaps scraping into the top half every so often. Yes we should keep Bruce.

If we're serious about moving forwards then I think everyone must surely recognise it's inevitable that Bruce will leave over the next few years.

Is Bruce going to get us into Europe at some point? Is Bruce going to show any kind of consistent tactical awareness? Is Bruce going to sign quality players and actually get them to gel and play as a quality unit?

He's done it nowhere else... Why will he do it here?

Telling people to "shut up" is not on Chris! Dan has every right to voice his opinion whether you like it or not. You obviously don't like his opinion, so come up with a reasoned argument as to why, instead of insulting him with the comment above.

I'm one that thinks as a now established Premier League club, we should have the players to cope, and the back up should be at least adequate.

If i was in BRuce shoes mind, knowing i'd missed my season target and had offered nothing new in was of explanation for the slump, i'd point to the injuries as well.

They have contributed, but the squad should still have been capable of picking up a few points here and there, the slump is a shambles, and no amount of injuries excuses a top level football club going 12 without a win, IMO.
 
Muffdiver - You are totally right. The injuries of course have had an effect but 1 win in 11 games? Thats total ****e. 11 lads from a pub team could have won at least 1 more game.

Like I said many times, there was something wrong at the club since the turn of the year and maybe it was a breakdown in management or players but for the clubs sake, if Bruce is staying, I hope it has been sorted out now.

Totally agree. Our decline has been inexcusable since January. It's not just injured players, the organization of our defence has been complete rubbish, which was supposed to be SB's forte. I'd give him full backing for another season and if there's no improvement it's hit the road time.

This is it. The whole point of a squad is that when some or even all of your strongest players are injured, they can take over and do an adequate job. If many of your key players are out and you guys keep losing with replacements from the squad, then they aren't good enough.

Either that, or they are good enough but Bruce has just ballsed up the management once again.

To be honest mate, and i know you keep an eye on us, like we do you, but it's not the same as watching 90 mins every week, some of the 'management' has beggared belief.

I was behind Bruce 100% until WBA home, then i started to wain, when 2-1 up, and with players out of position, he decided to try and holda deep line, and we were outplayed, and deservedly beaten.

The Fulham game, i left wanting him out, to put Onouha up front as a last desperate punt, a defender who despite his size, and a wonder goal at Chelsea, is not dominant in the air or great with the ball at his feet looked the last throws of a desperate man.

I've since taken stock, and do believe that overall he has progressed us, but i can't say i have faith in him at this point, and he MUST get this transfer window right.

My point being that we threw away winning positions in that winless run, second string or not, if a player was deemed good enough to be given a squad number by a premier league side, he should be able to do the basics to a very high standard.

If they can't, either due to being played out of position, or simply not being up to standard, then the manager has to have an answer as to what they were doing at the club in the first place.

I go on record now as saying i like Bruce, and would love to see him turn it around, but i don't have the blind faith or confidence in him to say i think he will.

An injury crisis doesn't explain our demise when the demise started before the injury crisis, does it? The fact is we were always going to go on a pathetic run, as i would say to anybody that would listen, because the standard of our football was nowhere near deserving of the 6th position we once held. In top level sport you're only good enough if you're good enough. If you're not good enough you WILL be found out and also luck will even itself out. Sport is just like that. We will finish no higher than we were ever capable of finishing. Not at any poin this season have we looked like a team that will finish strongly in the top 10, and i've honestly felt like that from start to finish. I don't want Bruce out, however, i'm a fan of most of his signings and think he deserves some more time.
 
I personally would have forgiven Bruce for the injuries if had simply been down to freakish bad luck, but HE himself has said he will be investigating the squads training methods because something just isn't right. Bear in mind he oversees the training and you have to assume just like Bruce himself has, that it isn't all down to bad luck and that something more sinister is going on, i.e very poor mismanagement and poor decision making. Otherwise why look into the training methods at all? Add this to the way he has in desperation, rushed players back this season, which has only seen their injuries get worse. Therefore while some of our injuries will undoubtedly be down to bad luck, some are placed directly at Bruce's door, which is why I don't buy the entire blaming the injuries excuses. Another reason is something like I experienced at last weeks match. I thought for a while in the first half we were the better team, indeed we could have been 2-3 nil up in the first half, proving that injuries are not entirely to blame for lack of heart, because despite our injuries we can play better than other teams, we just cannot sustain the motivation to do so. Which again is down to Bruce. Although it may look it, I am not a Bruce out merchant, I just want some objectivity. We cannot just close our eyes and pretend the last 5 months is all down to injuries. To do so, as Cest suggests absolves Bruce of any blame, which is perfect for him, but not for us.
 
Who/What is the Bruce out Brigade? That implies there is a coordinated group of people. I'm not aware that there is one.................there is only, as far as I'm aware, a number of individuals who have the same view as each other when it comes to the t current manager. I am one who does not believe Bruce has what it takes to take the club I support to the next level.

If there is such a coordinated group let me know where it is and I'll join/campaign for them...........

It's no more than a derogatory remark aimed at those of us who dare to disagree with the pro Bruce lobby ;)
