surely Spain is an exception with Iniesta, Fabregas, Xavi, Silva and Mata to pick from? None of them bar Iniesta and Xavi are going to be regular. Bale also plays for Wales, the difference between Spain and Wales is laughable and Bale is obviously going to start every game.
Bale is at the moment, like RVP was at Arsenal. He is carrying Spurs. 2 goals against Lyon in a 2-1 win. Same against Newcastle with the same scoreline. A 1-0 win at WBA where Bale got the only goal. He is standing out because he is by far the best player in that team. At Chelsea, Mata still stands out among quality players. Lampard, Oscar, Hazard... And if you look at the facts, Mata is better than Bale. World class? No. They are top top players but for me, world class is Messi, Ronaldo and Iniesta. The media are over hyping Bale a lot saying he is in the same league as Messi and Ronaldo. He isn't.

I never said you had a load of dross. I said he is your outstanding player and a lot better than the next best in your team. My personal view is that, man for man, we do have a better team than you. There are only 2 players from your starting line up that I would have in the Chelsea team. Walker and Bale. We have dropped points against lower league teams which had we won, we'd be fighting for the title. I blame the manager for his inept tactics for that!
There is no way Mata is better than Bale, you are incredibly bias. I doubt the likes of Real Madrid and Barca will ever be interested in Mata, as they already have superior players in midfield. Bale though will be on both clubs radar this summer, as will he be on our radar and Bayern Munichs
You've named two Spanish attacking midfielders who are definitely better than Mata and two who probably are. There are a few others who might get the nod too in a world squad to get some balance - Ozil, Moutinho, Fellaini, Modric (all went or would go for more money than Mata I think). Only room for four or five at most in the squad so not sure Mata makes it. He is very good though.
I'm not being bias. It's hard to argue against the facts isn't it? Facts suggest Mata is better than Bale. Mata may not go to Barca but they don't need him. He is a central playmaker and they have many of those. Bale is a winger who I think is better than Sanchez and thus they may be interested. It's what a club needs. But what is there to suggest that Bale has been much better than Mata?

What facts? Bale is playing in a weaker side, yet has scored the same number of goals, having played in less games. The bookies also rate Bale's performances this season above Mata's, making him 2nd favourite behind RVP for the PFA award

these stats: 17 goals 22 assists. He's played less games because Mata has been in Europe/World Cub Champs and even taking his 4 goals and 3 assists out of those Mata still has desireable stats. we're called biased for calling Mata better than Bale, yet when a Spud says he's up there with Ronnie and Messi it's fine. ****er

Bale also takes more of Spurs' free kicks at goal where as Mata has to contend with Lampard, Luiz, Hazard. Bale is a very very good player but it's all a bit of a one man show at Spurs at the moment. All the focus is give the ball to him and he doesn't create nearly enough as a winger. Just look at his rubbish assist stats. Basically he is Ronaldo but not as good. He's easy on the eye cos he's big and powerful but I don't think he has anywhere near the class of Mata. At Chelsea - Lampard, Oscar, Hazard, Mata and now Luiz all get a lot of the ball and still Mata shines. Put Bale in a team where he's surrounded by other top class players and I doubt he'd stick out. He'd still have good games and moments but he wouldn't influence as much IMO. Also, Mata is a european champion for club and country. Surely you have to do it at the top level before you can be called world class??
He's scored our last 6! He's in excellent form at the moment in terms of goals but what team doesn't have a player who goes through excellent form for a time. Stats aren't the whole game though. Our strikers have generally been **** at putting away his crosses, apparently he's created 50 chances in the league this season(it was on SSN the otherday). Assists can be very misleading too. Walker got an assist for Bale's goal against West Brom where all he did was pass it sideways to Bale who then skipped past Morrison before blasting an unstoppable shot past the 'keeper. Walker had naff all to do with the goal apart from not cocking up a simple pass. I wouldn't put too much store in assists. For two players who can play across the 3 behind the striker I think they're very similoar in terms of current ability but for quite different reasons. Mata's much more consistent but Bale on form is unplayable. Also, Bale has been getting special treatment from even top teams like United for well over a season, if Mata was double marked as often as Bale you might have more appreciation for him. You can add Sandro, Kaboul/Vertonghen and Lennon to that. I don't think you want Walker on current form though.
